A convenience store near me says a 50 pack for 5 dollars, so I just buy those and they last me several months.
Yes you will. People who bought theirs at launch have been complaining that the battery life is terrible now. And you can't just buy new batteries for that, you need to buy a whole set again. Rechargeables are the only way to go.Get the $25 dock. You will never have to worry about batteries again.

I'd recommend the Nyko Wii charging station. It's cheap and juices your remotes effectivly if you keep charging them when not in use. They're $25-30 and tend to get the straps grimey, but they work :D
rechargable duracells, even the best ones are cheaper than docking stations and last way longer and you can use them for other things
I just use plain old rechargable batteries. Beyond the other complaints about the battery dock that people have levelled, there's also the issue that that's just for the Wii Remote. The thing about just using rechargable batteries is that you can use them for anything. I abhor buying battery packs that only work for one single thing; what do I do when I don't need it anymore?

Depends on the quality, but good ones are usually $10 - $12 for a set of four. You also need a charger.[QUOTE="GabuEx"]

I just got regular rechargeables with a charger for about $20. Considering how much you'll save if you use the Wii a decent amount, it's worth it.I use the Powerwave Multifunction Centre: http://www.gbatemp.net/lofiversion/index.php/t159186.html
It also holds you nunchucks, has a built in fan, and also blue neon lights to look cool.
and the Powerwave Charge Dock: http://www.getprice.com.au/Powerwave-Charge-Dock-Wii-142064-Gpnc_47--35179813.htm
Just to hold the other 2 wiimotes. I just store the 2 nunchucks in a box somewhere else.
Amazing use of $30.
Edit: I hate Re-chargeable AA's. You have to take them out, and do all that non-sense, when you can just simply place the Wii Remote on this thing when you aren't playing.
3rd party charging dock.
