I personally think it hit its peak in 1998 with Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow. It's been downhill since then.

Same here. Heck, I still watch the animated series if it's on before I go to sleep after my graveyard shift.

The animated series don't appear much where I live but If I ever get the chance yeah I'll be caught watching it. Heck I love the movies so much that I probably watched each of them 6 times. I heard they're gonna be more pokemon because japan loves it so much and actually more than 43% of america want more of them. That's probably the reason why you don't hear it much. But there are ALOT of people who do like them. It's hasn't gone downhill it's actually gone up since it's 10th anniversary celebration in New York city. They even have their own theme park!

Well, currently I'm playing through the original Pokemon Red on my old Game Boy Pocket, and I still love the game just as much as I did when I was in elementry school.

Like others, I believe it's peak was when the originals were released. However, Silver still hold the spot as my favorite Pokemon game of all time. Personally I'd love to see a Gold/Silver remake for the DS, as well as the release of the Original Red/Blue on the VC, but that probably won't happen for a while if it happens at all.

Same here; Yellow is the last one I played. People still buy the newest version when it comes out and seems to be happy with them, though, so I guess the franchise will never die.

The one chance would point to the opposite.

As for Pokemon?

It's always been cool to some people and it's always not been cool to others.

Pokemon may not be "cool", but the games are still good... I think G/S was the best series... you get freakin 16 badges and you get to battle Red

everything after crystal (except fiery red and w/e the blue one was) i didn't like.

esp the 3d ones. is it cool to be dressed in a cape with face paint and white crazy hair? sounds like a freak to me. early pokemon had maturaty to it but sence that most of it has been lost to 4-9 year olds.

wish VC would release gameboy and gameboy color games, then i would buy them up to crystal.

I was watching it the other day and some of it was pretty bad. The intro was so cool that sometimes even guys already in high school sing it just out of nastalsia. but now the song is so bad.

Pokemon RPGs for the handhelds are still amazing. Anyone that thinks Pokemon is for kids needs to re-consider a few things.

I believe it lost it's spark when they introduced more than the 150 Pokemon. It just seemed they were making these Pokemon up from things they see at first sight. For example "Oh look, an acorn! We'll call the 237th Pokemon Acornamon!". It all just got too desperate for me.

I think it is kind of cool, how they execute all of these awesome moves.

But, not to be supporting the other side or anything, I like Guitar Hero III better.

While the most recent Pokemon games are indeed fun games,I felt that Pokemon (the games) lost some of its "spirit" after Gold,Silver, and Crystal.I did enjoy Ruby,Fire Red,and such, and I poured hundreds of hours into them, but they just didn't capture that same sense of adventure as Silver or Gold,or the same sense of originality. They are still fun; I'm just burnt out with Pokemon now.

The first generation was the greatest. The second generation was pretty cool, since I got a chance to train Togepi and Marill. The third generation was just terrible. No offense, but Hoenn is 70% water and there are more worthless pokemon such as Plusle and Volbeat. The fourth generation redeemed itself and can still attract older fans as well as newcomers. This generation has starters that are almost as cool as the first generation.

Pokemon is still cool, if I use the older pokemon.
