I need help with Dragon Quest 9

So i stopped playing Dragon Quest 9 for a long time. I kept my progress, but i forgot where i was in the game. Is there an easy way to find out where in the game i am in, so i can continue?

You could use youtube and watch play thru parts until they spark your memory. Or can read a walkthrough. I also dont like taking too long a break on heavy story games for the same reason, i forget a bunch.
