I just found $30 of eShop credit in my Nintendo!

Well not "in" my Nintendo, technically, but in my NNID account. I was watching a video discussion about the digital promotion that Sony has right now and they were talking about how Nintendo was bad at promoting their digital sales, and the kicker was when only one guy out of all of them even remembered the Digital Deluxe promotion that you got when you bought the black Wii U.

I had the Deluxe thanks to the Wind Waker bundle, so I googled "Digital Deluxe" and it led me to the special Ninty website I had to use to redeem my points. Voiala! Thirty buckaroos! Like finding money in an old pair of jeans!

So, what, do you guys have money you didn't know about? Or at least how many points until your first $5?

Yeah Nintendo was awful at promoting it. I had to go out of my way reading about the differences between basic and deluxe to learn about the promotion and even then it was still so under-the-rader that I doubt it influenced the decisions of anyone. (Like you, I even forgot it existed!) In that sense it was a rather pointless promotion.

Still, free games so I'm not complaining xD

I knew about the DDP since launch. Though an issue I have with it, is it's ACCOUNT based not CONSOLE based. I downloaded a few games on a different NNID on my Wii U (Other one was perma banned from Miiverse so I made a new account) and since I downloaded them on that account I had 2 seperate DDP accounts with different points on them....so now I have to remember to download all my Digital Games ONE 1 NNID.

Thanks for posting this. I've never visited the website before and when I logged in, I had 2 $5 gift certificates waiting for me, sweet!

Same. I got Sonic: Lost World for free after buying Mario Kart, and I got points for it.

Sweet, I'm glad others found money. I also reminded both a cousin and a nephew, and they each had $5 despite barely buying anything on the eShop. Apparently the bundled MK8 counted as a purchase.

I used some of my money on Steamworld, which is on special now. The rest I'll use on Bayonetta.

Nintendo gives away points for games all the time. They just are quieter about it. You get a ton for doing surveys for them.

I've earned 15 bucks so far, soon to be 20. I just think it's really lame that the points program is ending in December. I hope they come up with something else to compensate us, but I highly doubt that comes to fruition.

The DDP was one of the selling points for the Deluxe version back when the Basic model still was still in production. I guess Ninty is not advertising it as much now?

But yeah, I've gained up to $40 and counting, and it's one of the main reasons why I've gone all digital for my Wii U. 10% reward per purchase is not much, but it's definitely beneficial for a struggling college student.

Well, you do get Nintendo Club points (coins), which I use for VC games, mostly. Granted, it's not the same because you're stuck with whatever games they offer that month. But it's something.

I don't think mine does. It's a launch console. I'll have to double check.

I don't buy digital for full retail games but there's plenty of Virtual Console Games I want to buy so I should build up pretty fast.
