mine was pure luck, my brother and i went to best buy to buy a ps2 remote, and when we got there, a man was laying down what we saw white boxes, and as we got closer they were wii's, only 3 of them tho, but we snagged one and ran as fast as we could and payed for it, and we went back to buy wii points:P
i got extremely lucky. i looked on the internet one day and saw nothing except on ebay (which i dont use). then the next day walmart.com had some in stock and i got the customer's choice bundle. 30 minutes of searching and there it was. very lucky, b/c an hour later they were out of stock again haha.
My dad got mine for Christmas a couple weeks before Thanksgiving from Amazon. The price was higher than normal, but it skyrocketed the weekend after Thanksgiving, so I'm glad he bought it when he did! My dad only does internet shopping, so he would never have had the patience to go to Wal-mart daily! :P

I was looking for a Wii for 6 months as well and finally found one at a Wal-Mart. The Wii was obviously the last one left at the store and the salesperson at the register looked very reluctant to sell it.
I kept auctioning for one on ebay... kept losing the, until I came back from work on day, and said ... ALRIGHT forget those stupid auctions.. I went to the buy it now ones and found the deal I wanted, and got it like 9 days later.. and I was Oh so happy
My friend was in line and he called and told me i should get one. So i went to EBGames and waited in line for 45 mins and got mine on opening day =). My friend waited for 2 hours
walked into the local gamestop and told em, I'd like to get a Wii.. and they said, "Alright"... no waiting, no searching, no nothing.. just walked in and got it, walked out. :) Don't know why these things are so hard to find.
Waited in line at best buy for 10 hours, fueled by 2 rock stars, a bag of chips, a sandwich, mario kart for the DS and anticipation that I was gonna get in on launch date!
waited in line at gamestop( 5 in the morning since they told me to get out their early) for the wii voucher paid the full 249.99 plus 8.5 tax and my wii cam in on xmas eve, or else i could of waited till the 25 of january
i went to gamestop at 4:00 the day after thanksgiving and bought it if you really want one you have to call around and see when they are getting their orders in.
I pre-ordered it, but a little late, so I couldn't buy one at launch. They called me about a week after its launch, and I went to the store to pick it up.
waited in the car at toys r us from midnight til 6:30am. stood in line for vochur(misspelled) till 7:00am. Then waited till 8:00am to go back in line to get the wii. Then waited 9 days to open(which was Christmas day of 2007).
I found mine at EB games, I got the second one out of three for that day. The other one was gone in a matter of moments, so i consider myself pretty lucky. But i also was able to get one for one of my friends at target, and it was a few days after christmas too.
got mine at the toys r us at times square (Manhattan, NY). there must have been at least 50 of em. I recommend going there if you really want one. i dont think many people will travel into the city just to buy it, thats why i looked there. Lucky me :-D
I got extremely lucky i guess. We were on our way to buy a present for my little brother because he had really good grades in his Report card. So i went to Gamestop( he wanted a wii) with bro and dad and like usual i asked the guy if he had a wii and he said NO, but than he replied by laughing and saying he was just kidding and they had on more and stuff so we bouaght it. My dad took his Wallet out took 350 out and told us to get a controller and a game so we did. We brought it home a nd played that night for hours. i reserved Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess at EB Games (now Gamestop), before the Wii ever came out, and i got a call saying i'm able to reserve the Wii before anyone else cause i reserved a Wii game early, so i picked it up the day the system offically came out without waiting outside Best Buy like every other sad person

whats wrong with waiting outside for something that you really want. its not like i don't do anything i have a job, and live with my g/f and go to college, i don't see the problem in waiting for something that you know is going to be hard to find.

Same here. I got to GAmestop on Black Friday at 4;25 and i was 6th in line outta 15 Wiis. I just went to that GAmestop the week before and the guy working told me they were gonna get 12 on Black Friday. Guess 3 lucky people at the end of the line got one to lol
I got lucky. I found out Target was getting a shipment the next day, so I drove to Target at 8 in the morning (when they open) and there was already a huge line outside. I was 33rd in line, but luckily they got a shipment of like 72. In the end I was four hours late to work that morning, but it was worth it.

the gamestop next to me only had 6 for sale, so i would have had to came out there to pre order it, so whats the difference?
Got mine in January last year. I found out when Target was getting a shipment and went way way early in the morning and waited with a bunch of people for the store to open. Ended up about 20-30 of us by the time the store opened and we all got our Wii's.
I went and waited in line at a Circuit City for 4 hours because I got a tip off. I was 13th in line and they said they only had 12. Then a delivery truck came and brought 20 more. KICK ASS.:lol:
