Best game of 2014?

Which game did you like the most this year? For me it must be Monster Hunter or Mario Kart. Haven't tried Super Smash and that game might change my first choices.

It's been a great year for a Wii U owner, but the newest Smash game is in my opinion the best one yet.
The amount of hours that will go into it will be staggering.

I haven't yet opened Bayonetta 2, but that's because Hyrule Warriors is my Nintendo game of the year. I love it. Tons of content, fun action, cool weapons. I'm not even the a huge Zelda fan and I think the game is amazing. Not just my Nintendo game of the year, but probably overall goty as well.

Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze for me. I haven't played Smash, so that could change.

Ehh hard to say. I'll list what I enjoyed the most based on the number of hours I have logged on the game.

Monster Hunter is from 2013, if I recall correctly.

Anyway, for me it's pretty much a tie between Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. so far. Both are freaking sweet examples of the series.

Yea, I was a little confused when I read his favorite. So I assumed the thread was about what we personally enjoyed the most in 2014, not having to be released in 14.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze by far. It's the greatest platformer I've ever played full stop and could very likely end up being the greatest game released this entire generation. It's just that good. Retro Studios deserves far more praise for their exceptional work on the game.

The only game I bought this year was Super Mario 3D world... So I am going to say that one.

There hasn't been much competition.

Bayonetta 2 so far. I only finished DKC TF half way, but I'm returning to it now ... and it's damn good.

For me it's probably Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. I could have picked Smash Bros. 3D easily, but I enjoyed Shantae a lot more - even if it's an eShop game.

The best games I've played this year are Smash Brothers, Bayonetta 2, Dragon Age Inquisition and Tropical Freeze.

It's between Bayonetta 2 and Smash Bros.

I think I'm leaning toward Smash, given that it has begun to consume all my time, even with B2 and Mario Kart 8 DLC out.
