Old Game but still stands up against the sands of time.

User Rating: 9.4 | Fallout MAC
I bought this game in a bargain bin when i was twelve years old, I got it because it was a RPG and I loved Final Fantasy series plus back then there really wasn't that much choice for Mac user. When i took this home this became one of my favorite games of all time, this game is a great RPG on it's own but this isn't just why it's such a classic, it's best described as a Sci-Fi spoof meets Mad Max but this still doesn't do it justice. The story is a what if the cold war happened the world is not post apocalyptic nuclear barren wasteland, you are a descendant of American group of people who hid in a massive nuclear fallout shelter and have been given the quest to find a water chip, so your sent out with what is left of the survival gear. This runs quite similar to most RPG out there it's turn based and there is a lot of exploring, but where Fallout makes this genre it's own is in it's dark adult humor for example you have random encounters which is a RPG standard but here you can find a group of mutated rats, a trader, Doctor Who's Tardis, Godzilla's footprint or a crashed alien spaceship with a painting of Elvis in it, these are just a few things that make this game personal, not only this the game itself works really well with pockets of well done manuals, posters and books which are done in style of the 1950's which make this seem more realistic, all these extras make it feel like more and more of a personal touch has been put into this game which a lot of games are missing nowadays. If you see this game buy it now you wont be disappointed.
