Play the way you want to play
Dishonored takes place in the city of Dunwall where you play as Corvo the body guard to the Queen and her daughter. You are returning to Dunwall after a diplomatic mission for help with the plague. Just as you start settling in, the queen is assassinated in front of you and her daughter is kidnapped and you are thought to be responsible. You eventually escape prison and execution to get revenge. To get this revenge the whole play it your way begins during the first mission. You can attempt a stealthy playthrough where you lurk in the shadows or you can go on a murderous rampage and kill every guard in sight. The way you play will have an effect on the world as well. If you kill guards and create problems in the city the more chaos you accumulate and this means later in your playthrough you will see more plague rats roaming around, more guards defend areas, and more weepers (plague infested husks).
While going through the missions it is advisable to explore the mission areas because their are many hidden runes and bone shards that will give you more powerful abilities and give you certain perks such as more health and energy. You also find money which you can use to upgrade your equipment and buy bolts and bombs to use on your mission and again the way you play could help get you money as well for guards also carry money. Corvo is also given several abilties like the power to blink from one area to another, stop time, mind control, control a swarm of rats, and see through walls. Corvo can also hack equipment such as walls of light and turrets to kill the guards that is if you plan on taking the route of murder.
The gameplay is excellent you can take your time on a mission and try to find new ways to complete the game or you could try to end the game quickly. The only thing that posed a problem was the game seemed short and the amount of assassination targets seemed to be small. Though this doesn't hinder the game too much because the game is brilliant. Dishonored will supply that RPG play your way feeling for sure. 9.5/10
