Virtua Tennis Beater? …………………… I have had Top Spin since it was released back in October 2003 and the fact that I am still playing it now online and off says it all. Everything about Top Spin is quality, from the excellent animation right down to the ball physics. The controls are excellent and the use of the trigger buttons to fire off un-returnable (if your timing is right), risk shots is a fantastic idea. The single player game is very addictive and extremely playable and although the character creator tool isn’t as in depth as say ‘Tiger Woods 2004’ is still a worthy edition and generates quite a few laughs trying to replicate the perfect player. As with most tennis games though Multiplayer is where Top Spin excels and the ‘one more game’ syndrome comes into play with a vengeance! Add to this the fantastic Xbox Live modes (which in my opinion even beat Rainbow Six), and you have quite simply the best tennis game on any console!
