Best Skateboard Game for the PS1!!!

User Rating: 7 | Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 PS
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 for the Playstation was a revolutionary game when it was released. It took the already great Tony Hawk Pro Skater and improved by adding new graphics, adding new challenges, new character animations and adding the option to do a manual, by pressing down then up. This game has great gameplay that is found throughout all of the Tony Hawk games. You can select from up to around twelve different skaters, each with their own set of tricks and, of course, their patened special moves. There are nine worlds or levels to unleash your skating mahem. The game presents you with ten objectives to complete in each stage. Three of them usually involve score, while there are collect skate, combo and find the secret tape. The sound track in the game is really what makes it. While you are skating around you can listen to the best punk rock and alternative hits of the late 90s. The sounds when the player falls are alright, but they sometimes get stuck and repeat over and over until you turn the system off. Also, if you compelte the game and certain objectives, you can unlock Spiderman and Eighties Tony Hawk, just to name a few. In conclusion, this is a good game with good graphics, for a fifth generation game. But it doesn't compair with the newer games in the series. Even the next installment, for the PS2, gives the game a complete graphical overhaul.
