The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers is based on the epic movie directed by Peter Jackson. Many movie liscensed video games have bombed because it was just too rushed. This game is the dark light from other movie games in the past. The game has the total package. The game gives you three players from the movie to play from, Aragorn the human, Legolas the Elf, and Gimli the dwarf.

The gameplay is quite basic, and you can spend hero points to gain some fancy combinations to improve your Medieval Combat Martial Arts techniques. The game can get a bit repetitive, but nonetheless it's a fun hack n' slash game.

The cinematics are directly taken from the movie. It's the very first game to ever to do that and LOTR The Two Towers was ahead of its time in doing so. The game also features CG footage from The Fellowship of the ring and on your first level you get to play Aragorns great great great great great great grandfather, King Isildur on Mordor. You also get to play the Weathertop level, incinerating Ringwraiths. The battle of Helms Deep is challenging, but very fun to play.

The game may be short and can take a day or two, but its best to play all three playable characters for each level. Reason being you can unlock many secret extras when you increase their levels. Other things to unlock is the making of the game, photos from the films and artwork.

The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers is a movie game ahead of its time due to its innovation of showing footage directly from the movie. It also brings the Medieval Sword Combat to the forefront.
