This is just your average movie game that should be recommended only to die-hard Lord of the Rings fans

User Rating: 5.5 | The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers PS2
I loved all the Lord of the Rings movies, and I think the third might even be one of my favorites of all time. But is this game my favorite of all time?
Story--it ties in with that of the film's very well. It's sort of a mix between the first and second movie, but you probably weren't expecting the first movie storyline to be in this game. The voice acting is decent but the sound in the game is very well done.
Graphics--the graphics are alright, but everything about the game looks mediocre. There isn't really much detail in the models or the faces of enemies. The enemies don't have much variety to themselves. The environments look fair, with good lighting effects but bad models.
Gameplay--the gameplay gets boring after a while. You have a sword and a bow and arrow, depending on which character you're playing as. The aiming is clunkish, and the enemy and teamate AI is pretty poor. There are very frustrating boss fights, which can sometimes make you want to chuck your controller out the window. The gameplay isn't really anything special at all.
Story: 7.6/10--probably the best part about this game, the story ties in really well with the two films'.
Graphics: 4.3/10--the graphics are really bland and there isn't much detail into anything, really.
Gameplay: 4/10--it's boring, repetitive, and frustrating. The combat is mediocre and the AI is horrible.
Final Thoughts: If you're a die-hard Lord of the Rings fan, then rent this game, since it doesn't have any replay value whatsoever. Even if you loved the movies, the game will just disappoint you.
