There isn't much to say about this game, its a masterpiece like ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. It's actually like a mix of both games, though more ICO than Shadow.
Ueda took over a decade to get this out. What was going to be a PS3 game got canceled and turned into a PS4 game. I think it was the right thing to do looking at Trico... he looks amazing with so many feathers moving. On the PS3 the game would of been a slowdown fest. On PS4 the framerate is not as bad as people say, i hardly ever noticed any slow down. Beautiful looking game, one of the best on PS4.
Big respect to Ueda for keeping true to what his games are. He doesn't change to new generation of trends that suck. He stays true to what his games are! ART! But of course there is more than art to TLG!
On ICO i never felt such a bond with a character like i did with Yorda. Protecting her. Trying to escape the castle. Here on LTG i felt a bond as well with Trico. I love animals, i have a dog i care so much about and Trico opens up that feeling i have. Trying to find a way out of the valley with him same as with Yorda in the castle. With dangers in every corner. Always scared Trico might die!
Ueda's games are puzzle based. Figuring out how to get passed one area, or how to take down a giant colossus. TLG had maybe two areas i had to do some thinking, but other than that the puzzles were not hard. I think SoTC had the hardest puzzles, trying to figure out how to take down a couple of bosses!
For me this game is a must buy. There is nothing in gaming i can say touches my heart like Ueda's games. While SoTC is his best work in my opinion, TLG is a great addition to his games. This is his final masterpiece. It is sad there is no more... but i will always remember and play his games. MASTERPIECE!
