Now I see why Super Mario Bros. 2 wasn't released in America.

This is my first review of an imported game that never came out in America. If you are part of the 1% of people that don't know why this game wasn't released in America, let me fill you in. When this game was being made, the developers thought it would be too hard for American audiences, so they took a game called "Doki Doki Panic" and put Mario in, and that is what we refer to as Super Mario Bros. 2 in America. But THIS is what we call Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels here in America. Let's take a look at it.

Basically, this game feels like an expansion pack of Super Mario Bros. However, this game has harder levels. So you might ask, "How is this game hard?" Well, there are poison mushrooms, winds, pipes that take you back levels, plus punishing enemy placement. There are enemies everywhere, and they are in the most uncomfortable of places. Plus, it's extremly hard to find mushrooms, which makes it even more difficult.

So, was it the right decision for Nintendo not to release this game in America? Yes. It is a punishing game. In fact, it's so hard, I can't get past World 1-3. So honestly, that's as far as I can go in this review.

THE VERDICT!

Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels is a very difficult game. If you think you're up for the challenge, go for it, but be warned, this game is hard. If you're looking for something easier, buy Super Mario Bros. 2 for 500 Wii Points.
