Solid enough physics to be casual fun for the racing fan but a lack of head-cam & gearbox ruins that potential

User Rating: 5.5 | Stuntman: Ignition X360
If you're used to memorising tracks, grooves, corners and gears, and racing the same line over and over again for the perfect time, then you might just be a racing fan and as such, you might just have enjoyed a little casual fun with Stuntman Ignition, that is had it only been developed with the racing community in mind.

The physics model is solid enough to be at least casual fun for the race fan but unfortunately it doesn't have a "head-cam" / driver's seat viewpoint nor does it give you the option to take manual control of the gears.

It's frustrating that a game so in tune with the mindset of the racing fan that it could almost have been designed with them in mind, wouldn't include these essential and definitive aspects. As it is Stuntman Ignition is, for a large segment of driving game fans out there, little more than a frustrating missed opportunity.

As far as the voice-over is concerned, the voice of the film director is potentially very irritating and while it can be switched off via the options menu that does also mean switching off the voice of the stunt coordinator. Not that big a deal but I did like to hear him calling out the stunts.
