True innovation isn't something that we see in the interactive entertainment medium all too often. It is common for developers to feel the pressure to rush games out of the door as quickly as possible in order to turn a profit, whilst also copying games deemed as popular and successful with hopes of attracting more buyers. Unfortunately, this method also makes for a lesser variety of games to choose from. The upside to this, however, is that it makes those gems that we see once in a generation truly shine. Those games we didn't know we wanted until it was right in front of us, on our screens and in our hands.

Street Cleaning Simulator truly is a hidden pearl within an ocean of seaweed and carp. Visceral, fun and emotionally engaging. It is too soon to state for sure, but I believe that everyone would agree that the overriding way to describe an interactive experience, like the one given to us by Excalibur Publishing Limited, involve two words; timeless, classic.

It is the longevity of its game-play and art design that will be Street Cleaning Simulator's saving grace, as akin to other classics that have stood the test of time to rise up into the higher realms of recognition - Blade Runner, for instance - Street Cleaning Simulator and the masterminds behind its development may have just been too good, ahead of their time. I can only hope to god that the circumstance never arrives, but in thirty years time, when my grandchildren are wearing protective hydrating water-exoskeletons so that they can play in the molten sun, I picture myself echoing the first time I played this game and gently weeping to myself. If we had only payed attention to the central message of Street Cleaning Simulator and picked up the very trash that we leave at our own feet, our world would be greener, and our inter-humanistic relationships all the richer.
