Runescape or life? Or... Runescape and life!
"This is bad game" or "OMG this is fantastic game!". Reviews on GameSpot are the same, few of them are in range 3-7 of scoring. Many of them are 10 or 1. I will be back onto this later. Now to give you short review on Runescape (RS - for short).
Runescape is Java based game. It works on Java language. You can play it over your browser, just wait few seconds to load and there it is - fun can begin. For someone...
Runescape (RS) is divided onto F2P (Free to Play) and P2P (Pay to Play). It goes like this: F2P is, we can say, demo of this game - you have some skills, basic map, some items and few quests. In P2P you have everything. Whole map, every item, every skill, every quest etc. But many ppl play RS like F2P. Why? Well, for them its interesting.
Manual of this game, so called "Knowledge Base", is excellent! You have everything in it. Like manual, community is good also. There are lot of sites that can provide you some directions about this game. But, be aware! Like in every other game there are lot of fake sites who can harm you (viruses, spywares, keylogers etc.)
It is MMORPG, so, you will meet people. You can play this game solo, thats true. I mean, there is no way some1 will help you to cut the tree but yourself. But, as every game, its lot more interesting if you play it with some1 else. This game have no party system - thats bad thing (for me) but you can choose whether to be pure melee (warrior), or mage or range. There are even couple of sub classes (ancient, crossbow, lunar, whiper).
Like a lot off other multiplayer games, this have also quests. All I can say is that there are lot of them and they are good. They are not like "Arr, bring me 128 parrots and you will get gold ring!". No, on contrary! They have story and lot of actions. There are very simple and very hard tasks in some quests. If you solved some quest you will get privilege on some part of map or you can get some unique item.
Skills are main thing in whole game. You can be "pure" (pure miner, pure ranger, pure runecrafter...) or you can play game to achieve highest level of every skill. For that, it takes time. So to return on my Review Deck:

You have a goal in the game, for example 99 lvl in smithing. And you play, and play, and play... After couple of months, you get that level, but... Where is your private life? Don't get me wrong - you can't blame Jagex (RS owner) and Runescape because you couldn't resist playing RS in the middle of your exams. Its your fault. And thats it. I am not some shrink here, to give you advices about how to play some MMORPG, I am here to support every1 who like to play games, but in some reasonably way.
"Oh, smithing is boring... Whole Runescape is boooring!" Ummm, if you eat caviar every day for 2 years would you be sick of it?!? I would, definitely! Yeah Runescape can and is boring if you have some higher goals. So... take a rest, few days, couple of months, why not?
I am not some RS PR. I am just ordinary player who knows what happens if you play RS, or any other game, a lot. So there it goes. I found that reviews on GameSpot are very good and so I wanted to share my experience with all of you.
So to conclude: this is very good game. I wish it have better graphics (imagine Castle Wars in 3D engine!). And again: Its you who decide how much you play; not me or game.
