@jinzo9988: Agreed, I like some of the things that the developer is trying to do like VR support and also making the game more approachable for everyone.

But the campaign's 3 challenge progression system sounds horrible. It might be fine if it was just to get some bonus points to help unlocking cars and upgrades more quickly, but if it is the main objective of the game then I'm not sure what I'm racing for if getting 1st place doesn't mean anything. I hate it when developers try to be "unique" or "sophisticated" to differentiate themselves from other games, but forget about what actually makes a game fun.

It would be like not being able to play the next chapter in a Doom or Call of Duty campaign because you didn't kill the enemies in a specific way, like not getting enough headshots or not getting enough multi-kills with a grenade. Most people just want to mow down enemies for fun, rather than having to complete specific tedious tasks.

@BlueFlameBat: One of Playstation's main selling point is exclusive games and content, so I think they're just more willing to pay big money for it.

Xbox still has plenty of exclusive games to keep people happy even if they don't get these exclusive content for multi-plat games, but the Xbox is just becoming the poor man's alternative to PC gaming. I enjoy games like Halo and Forza but really don't see the point anymore in buying an Xbox if I can play all of the games on a PC with much better performance. I'd still love to see the Xbox sell well so that Microsoft will keep investing in exclusive games and keep the gaming industry competitive, but honestly anyone that can afford it really only needs a PC and a Playstation (and a Switch) and they can play any game that they want without buying an Xbox.

@OdinXivraj: Maybe you're right that some of them feel overworked, but we don't know for sure. Some of them might enjoy being a part of a special project, making a game that has depth and details that most other games don't have even if it means that they have to work extra hours.

It could be similar to being an artist. Just because it's "work" that keeps food on your table doesn't necessarily mean that everyone wants to do a mediocre job to get it over with as soon as possible so that you can leave the office at 5:00pm every day. Some people have pride for their work or enjoy what they're doing, and work hard even if they have the option to be lazy.

@Oldgun: The article is telling you the depth and work that goes into making every small thing in games. Some people enjoy learning about the programming and development aspect of games. This detail can't be included in a game review unless they write an entire book for it.

If you don't care about the behind the scenes of game development then that is fine, but you should take your own advice, pick another article to read and move on if this is not something you're interested in.

What are you talking about? Call of Duty has been included as a free game only twice this year. How is that every month?

I've always played Playstation and will be buying the PS5 first, but with Halo and Flight Simulator and Forza coming out I'm tempted to finally try out Xbox when the new one comes out. Especially with the backwards compatibility I'd love to play 4 generations worth of exclusives I have never played.
