you are most likely going to get a refurbished elite if they are not able to fix your elite

I am seriously thinking about getting one based solely on how disgustingly loud my old one is. In order to drown it out i have to turn the volume up so loud that it becomes just as annoying to me ( and the GF who complains nonstop ) that its totally counterproductive.

I have seen the new one running at a kiosk but it was locked up so it was impossible to really tell how loud it was especially since i didnt have an old one there to compare it to.

Im in the process of playing Alan Wake and during the parts where the game isnt making much noise its almost unbearable. I just sit there waiting for loud stuff to happen so the sound of my system will go away which makes it impossible to concentrate or enjoy anything.

Through a stroke of luck i had a family member purchase a duplicate PS3 as a present not knowing i already had one. It is currently my intention to get rid of it and use that to get a new 360.

Assuming of course its worthwhile based solely on the above mentioned problem. Any thoughts?

The system itself is flawless though. Hasnt even acted like it wants to die or anything.

if noise is the your main problem with your current 360,then trade it in with the extra ps3 for the new slim, i got mine last week and its very quiet

i sent my used elite to gamestop for cash,knowning the system will shut down when it gets hot or playing it over 90mins,gamestop only tested it for 15mins and game $$$ and i bought a new slim.most people traded in bad 360s for the slim,but from someone you know and is fed up with his working 360

Is any one else having problems transfering data from the hd to the new slim..Ive followed the video put it in the front an the back..It wont even recognise the cable..Im not sure whats wrong..Is ther any other way to do this..Some help would go along way..Im sure ive got it in the right slot..

i used an external hard drive to transfer my data, it was very easy, maybe you can try that if you have an external hard drive

Does this new Xbox 360 get the Red Rings of Death? Thats my main concern right now.

mine is barely a day old so i can't say how reliable it is, but i've had it on for over 5hours and its still quiet.only the fan part blow some hot air and thats it.i bought mine at costco incase any problem arises, i can return it easily for my $$

i just got my new slim.i've been to several gamestop and they didnt have it, went to one costco yesterday and they were sold out to,tried the other branch and they had like 10 :D if you are in New York metro area, check costco at New Rochelle,i can give you the address if you want it. i heard lots of people asking gamestop if they had anymore. MS should ship more.

i called MS customer service twice and they were very helpful. i spoke to an Indian ones but i can deal with accent so i was good with it. i called Sony customer service 3x (not about the ps3 though), one was very helpful,one was ok and the other just didnt even want to try

i can talk to my brother in Europe for $35 a year, worth it for me,and i can pick up a launch 30 game and still play friends online,it's worth it for me n thats what matters
