So if you're making a pay check in the U.S. (or what others would call a "paycheque"), you have to pay a payroll tax on each check. The feds take 6.2% of your check, and require your employer to pay another 6.2% of the value of your check. This money is supposed to fund Social Security, Medicare, and Disability benefits. In the past however some of this money wad diverted by the government to fund other things, with the intent of "eventually" paying that money back (of course you know how that works out, right?).

Well I saw Chris Christie (I don't know if he's related to Agatha or not) on Hannity today, and he was saying that some of the money that people pay from their payroll taxes is still diverted from Social Security and spent on other things. Is he right?

Neither, they're both too hot for me and probably have all kinds of nasty bugs and critters. Texas has a lower cost of living and lower taxes though, plus didn't Cali have to release a lot of prisoners because their prisons are too crowded? And the state government there is pretty broke, so out of the two I'd rather live in Texas. Though Northern California is probably not as hot as Texas and Southern California. But from what I understand people are moving out of California and into Texas.

I'd rather stay in Connecticut, though Rhode Island is close enough to CT and it has better beaches and lower taxes (while the sales tax in RI is a little higher, it's 7% instead of 6.35%). Maybe Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina might be nice states to live in, they're south of CT, so warmer, but probably not too hot. Further south than that and its probably too hot for my liking.

Professors picking on your height? Ask them to stop, as you are there to learn, not to get mocked for your physical appearance. If not, bring it up to the dean. Also what kind of professor would make a fuss about someone's height?!?

I'd sue their asses.

Especially if the professor is fat. It would be fun to take some money out of their fat ass pockets!

Wait TC is Indian, I always thought he was Nigerian!

Professors making fun of a student's height is unprofessional. I am surprised that they would do that.

RIP.

I'm surprised people haven't heard of him; but I think those two who haven't heard of him are not Americans.

I was surprised when I heard the news, because I thought he already had been dead for a while.

@Master_Live: If an internship is required for graduation, they should be paid. Students already pay out the ass for overpriced tuition. They should at least be compensated for a required internship. They should at least get stipends too.

Last year my cousin was interning at some place up in NYC for school credit. It cost her money to get an apartment in NYC and to take the subways back and forth between NY and Connecticut, and the place she was interning at was about to pay her but the college told her that she had to turn down the pay in order to get the credits. I mean, seriously, if the business wants to pay, why should the school care, it's not coming out of their wallets! But now that semester is over, and she's still interning there and getting paid. Actually she just met Olivia Wilde at that place a couple weeks ago.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the thread title. Except I didn't think of the thief having tiny legs.

It guess it is too hot that they have to strip.

Time to listen to some Nelly: "It's getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes".

@ianhh6: whenever I hear the name "Mumford and Sons" I think of Sanford and Son. I can't be the only one who does that, can I?

You probably aren't, but I have no idea what that is :P

You're from a different country, right?

Sanford and Son is a tv show from a few decades ago, the 70s I think. Here is the theme song from the show.
