So if you're making a pay check in the U.S. (or what others would call a "paycheque"), you have to pay a payroll tax on each check. The feds take 6.2% of your check, and require your employer to pay another 6.2% of the value of your check. This money is supposed to fund Social Security, Medicare, and Disability benefits. In the past however some of this money wad diverted by the government to fund other things, with the intent of "eventually" paying that money back (of course you know how that works out, right?).
Well I saw Chris Christie (I don't know if he's related to Agatha or not) on Hannity today, and he was saying that some of the money that people pay from their payroll taxes is still diverted from Social Security and spent on other things. Is he right?
