I'd go with the original It, House On Haunted Hill, or The Shining if it counts. I'm not the biggest fan of horror films, though, so my tastes are probably trash lol

@omegamaster: I'm pretty sure they're porting P3P, not Persona 3 FES. That's the version with no overworld and you just move a cursor around to talk to people. They say it's the inferior version but it's actually my preference because you can control your entire party and you also can replay as the female protagonist. It's not a bad game once you get past that whole cursor thing, though. The dungeon Tartarus is a bitch, though. It's like 225 floors lol

@texasgoldrush: Do you really think that having half the Dragon Quest games available on half of phones is as relevant as being available on every modern console to this day? All of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy are right now and there's a reason for that. DQVIII would be a risk, wouldn't turn a profit. That's why it's locked on the DS rn

@omegamaster: Oh, yeah, then I'd definitely go for it. I bought a Vita just because Sony and I ended up getting lucky and discovering The Persona series and other gems like Gravity Rush and Tearaway. If it's your first time playing Persona 4 Golden then you're in for a treat. I still play it like once a year lol

I love RPG'S in general but I do prefer turn based by a slight margin. I've really enjoyed lots of games from both, though.

Turn Based- FFX, Persona 5 Royal, Chrono Cross, Eternal Sonata (extremely creative and innovative combat system. I'd like to see more games do it like this), The Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia

Real Time- The Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Ni No Kuni: The Revenant Kingdom (loved this combat system. Most battles took less than a minute and the combat was silky smooth), FFVII Remake, Horizon Zero Dawn/ Forbidden West, Kingdom Hearts 3

@omegamaster: I prefer to keep it handheld for Persona 4 Golden. It's a PS2 game after all and might not look so great on a larger screen. That OST will probably sound amazing on my speakers, though.

@texasgoldrush: Then why is DQVIII so much less relevant? I can't play DQVIII or any other DQ games on my PS4. Kingdom Hearts and FFX have yet to miss a gen. They even made it to the Switch.

@texasgoldrush: Dragon Quest XI is not the best JRPG of last gen. Base Persona 5 puts it to shame and there's really no comparison when you factor in Persona 5 Royal. I'd also say FFVII Remake as well despite the fact that it's not complete yet. Also FFX, FFXII or Kingdom Hearts 2 > DQVIII

It's 1997 so I'm like 9 years old at this time and one of my friends bought FFVII because he liked the commercial but he didn't know it was a turn based RPG. As soon as he'd played for like an hour he decided he didn't want it so he told me he'd sell it to me for $15. I went home and begged my Dad so he got it for me. After that I was hooked and Squaresoft just kept releasing banger after banger. Good times.

I discovered the Persona series in like 2014 when I picked it up for Vita because it was the highest rated title. I instantly fell in love with the series and spent 5-600 hours between Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 5 Royal. Also own the earlier games as well and are working on them.

I can't even remember my first time playing Tekken but it'll always be my favorite fighting franchise. Lots of memories playing with friends in high school and they even had a Tekken arcade game in our rec room.

I remember reading about Kingdom Hearts in magazines before it came out and it seemed interesting but also risky imo like this could really suck. Luckily they did great and I came to appreciate action RPG's at that point. Also the Sepiroth fights were badass.

I'd heard of the Yakuza series but wasn't really willing to spend money on it because I wasn't sure if I'd like it. Picked up Yakuza 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 about a year ago on a PSN sale and now it's one of my favorite series. Yakuza 0 just might be one of my favorite games period. The story was very well written imo
