I too have been looking for a good Middle Ages action/adventure game for a long time now, but for some reason game developers can't conceive medieval without magic and dragons. Assassin's Creed 1 is indeed the only game that managed to keep it historical (fortunately for us, it was excellent).

If you're willing to settle for strategy games, DEFINITELY play Medieval II Total War. If you haven't done so, give Age of Empires 2 and Stronghold 1 a try too - they're old, but still very enjoyable.

If you like city-building games, keep an eye out for Medieval Mayor. I don't know if this game is ever going to see the light of the day, but it looks promising. There's also this game called Medieval Lords, but I have never tried it.

Pharaoh. I just can't let it go. One of the best and richest city-building games ever made, no doubt, and still perfectly playable today.

I was searching for Gamespot's review of SimCity 2013 and I can't seem to find it using the site search engine. (I can still access it via Google search)

Other game that appears to be missing is Rise of Nations. I'm assuming there are more too.

Apologies if this is already a known issue.

UPDATE: I think I understand what's happening: SimCity 2013 is somehow merged with SimCity 1989. When I searched for 'SimCity' and saw the old artbox, I immediately dismissed it as being the original game. It would probably be a good idea to change the artbox to the newer one.

The issue with Rise of Nations is different: both the original game and its expansion pack have been merged in the same page. That doesn't happen with other games so I assume this is not intended.

I don't take Toms reviews seriously anymore, and I don't believe anyone else should either.

That's the good thing about multiple reviews: you get to dismiss the critics you don't relate to and favour the ones you do.
