@jenovaschilld: You make the mistake of lumping together all technology, plus some weird analogy about house bills, into the same pile as console gaming. Sometimes things exist to fulfil a niche, and consoles are one of those things. They are seen by many as something I can buy, plug in and get games for for 5+ years knowing their experience is going to be the same as everyone else's. By changing that single aspect of them you create questions about the product, the key one being 'is it still preferable to own a console, or am I better of getting a PC?' Even if only 25% of people decide it is enough to stop them buying consoles it is still a large enough chunk to lead to the demise of console gaming.

I also look forward to the beginnings of people getting angry that they play a game online at 25-30fps against people who are playing it at 60fps meaning they are, effectively, second class citizens in an area of the market that has never had that problem before.

We've had E3 now and have heard that all Xbox in-house exclusives will also be released on PC, given both use the same architecture now on top of the same operating system their is no reason why they would be released in any state worse than the console version. Sony have been experimenting with streaming technologies and have only not pushed them to the forefront so far as they know most people's internet is not up to the task yet. You are right that the market evolves over time, but in this case I would say the market is evolving to remove the need of consoles and this is going to be a push to make as much money as possible before this end comes.

@IIIMatricksIII: I agree it's a bad move that will hurt consoles in the long run. There was an opportunity for one of the manufacturers to come forward and say they don't agree with this model for console gaming and that they would have their current console be their main system for its 6 year cycle, then they would release a new iteration of the console that would be more powerful than anything that came before it. This would spell out that if you was to buy one of these intermediate consoles that it would only be more powerful for a small window before the same situation arises again.

Once it becomes a prospect of every 2-3 years you are upgrading if you want to not have a worse experience with gaming, then you have to weigh up the price of a PC and its cheaper games. I think Microsoft know this and are moving to the Windows 10 branding over the Xbox branding, but Sony are making a dire mistake unless they see the future as a streaming service rather than in physical products.

@gagula94: On PC to run a AAA game at 2160p with moderate settings at 30fps you need a $500 gfx card, high/ultra settings at 30fps you are looking at $650+ for a card and to get 60fps with high/ultra settings you are going to have to go with a dual card set-up for $1000+. That is for the graphics card(s) alone before you factor in the cost of the rest of the system. So, if the Neo released this year it will not have the power to run more graphically intense games at 2160p, or it will be priced too high to appeal to the market it is aiming for.

@Bread_or_Decide: You do realise this is a review of a free expansion to the base game which scored 8/10 don't you? I know you're obviously too hip to give anything like this a chance, but it is an important fact you seemed to have missed...

I came here to bring up why this episodic review method is a farce, but happily it seems that is what everyone else thinks too going on the comments so far. I've been vocal in the past about episodic reviews for Telltale's games being not overly useful as you can't properly judge an episode without considering the overall story and it seems silly to mark down an episode because the choices made in the previous, higher scoring, episode had no impact (in a full review you would expect the reviewer to berate that scenario as a whole and not effectively praise it for having the choices, but scold it for them being pointless).

It is especially silly to have episodic reviews of games like this though, perhaps we should review Dark Souls by area, or Street Fighter by each fighter, Forza by track maybe? The review doesn't really mean much so perhaps wait until it is finished, give a quick impressions article instead if you want to stay current, although I'd rather this model didn't get much exposure as it is a terrible way to release a game.

I'm impressed, despite zero marketing in the UK of R&C it still managed number one. The chart itself looks a bit better than normal with the usual franchised games only taking up about half the list.

Title is missing "in the U.S." at the end of it ;)

Dominate is such a strong word and certainly doesn't fit the reality for the 360, so for people asking why others are pointing this out it is because the the title is set up to get views and provoke this response. All 3 console did well in their own ways last generation with no clear winner (the Wii sold better, but software sales were not that great). I think we should just all agree, as gamers, to ignore this type of article in future in the hopes of getting ones that are less there to provoke negative responses in the community. On the other hand I'm looking forward to the PS Neo users mocking the PS4 users over worse performance...

Will wait for a decent sale on this one as the user reviews seem to be very negative on sites like GOG and metacritic. I see a lot of complaints about the political agenda of the game - this wouldn't really bother me, but for the fact it would seem this has caused a shift in already established characters' personalities. Imagine the outcry if Lord of the Rings had a fourth part written by a different writer where the characters were no longer recognisable to their original personalities, well this sounds like the gaming equivalent to me.

Leaving out the main protagonist is any series where they've always been the focus almost always sees that game not live up to expectations. Halo 5 got a good deal of negative feedback due to the Master Chief not being the focus and this game will likely always feel like it is a standalone game riding on a name it has little to do with. We associate certain titles with certain characters, Tomb Raider without Lara Croft wouldn't be TR for instance, and removing those characters leaves the game troubled before it is even sold.

@i_am_kesmonkey: While I'm not going to get into the whole 'console sales' argument, I am going to say the eight is more than a few, especially in context - 2 months would be equivalent of around 3 million PS4 sales going on what we know so far. Definitely in the realms of several, unless you are trying to be misleading.
