[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"]They changed the ending, but why?senses_fail_06

i didnt see a change in the ending from the NES version. i didnt play the arcade version, so i guess thats what your talking about?

This was on the NES? I played it on the SNES and when you fought shredder at the end you had to launch the soldiers at him. I also remember an elevator ride right before the final boss.

aorry, meant

SNES. and in the SNES version, you throw the foot soldiers at shredder in level 4 (technodrome-let's kick shell), which they didnt have in the XBLA version. the end is the same, in which you fight super shredder and then he falls off the balcony-thing and dies. the only difference was the actually boss fight

to clarify, mom's big bro gaved me ping pong, i do not remember my age then, right now i am 28, this october will be 29, and still mom tells me to first earn upto 15000 per month and only then buy a ps2, lame as it is its a fact, but i will protest by ps2 within two months, i will purchase it, i am tired of replaying ps1 titles around.

youruser

firstly, im just gonna assume that you dont mean 15,000 american dollars.

secondly, your 28 and you have to do what your mom says? ps2s arent even that expensive anymore, you can get a slim for like 100$ (american)

[QUOTE="youruser"]

people play for fun, thats the concept of gaming, me gaming since ping pong, mom tell me you play like since kid now stop you do not grow no mature.

o comeon, she is the one stopping me from getting my hands on a ps2. i think gaming is a part of my life and i do not think age has anything to do with playing games, except certain genres, but i do not play adult games either, and other then that most gamers are playing cause its sort of their habit and also for having fun, i am sure if i was in korea or japan i would have made more money via gaming victories.

in anycase i think everyone from grandfather to grandson should play together as its a mind relaxing activity, i think stress can be declined via games.

and the only person in my family who would bother to play with me would be my bro as he was there with me 8-16 bit two player gaming, two player is such a fun.

just_nonplussed

so what your saying is, you've been playing games since the beginning (the refference to playing pong and playing the 8-16 bit games with your bro), yet its your mom's decision whether or not you get a ps2? shouldnt you be old enough to make that decision on your own?

sorry, i had to throw that out there

he's talking more about the perception; the perception that games are for children. this can be a real, tangible barrier to overcome - socially at least.

also, even though there is an 'M' for mature category, how many of these games are truly mature in the larger sense of the word? isn't 'M' just a symbol for boobies and violence? also, in some cases it probably functions to sell more units of a game.

i agree with the people here that gaming is for anyone ('E' for everyone) and should not be limited or constrained to age groups. people above 20 still play pokemon, because it's a fun game.

parents don't know what they're talking about. they don't know what you play, and they don't care either. they just make arbitrary decisions that a game is 'opposite' to 'life', and thus useless. they see only this reality that must be engaged with, and a certain job you must get or a certain way of 'normal' life or behaviour. and you must disagree with this, lest you be controlled all your life.

play is a way to resist being controlled or defined, and it's also a form of protest; a way to disregard notions of 'adulthood'. your inner child is more important, and playing games is a way to re-affirm with that state of mind and connect deeply with the rebellious child (the player).

and don't confuse child-like with childish. ;-)

thats not at all what i was talking about...i meant that this guy must be an adult, cus he's been playing since pong and 8-bits. yet his mom wont get him a ps2? that doesnt make sense to me. did he get a time machine that makes him still 10 years old today or something?

hmmm, forgot about snake. but think about Tales of Symphonia. who did you feel more emotion for? Regal (probably between 20 and 30) or lloyd (prolly like 16)?

ViewtifulScott

I wanted them to both die a slow death, hated that game.

think about it, are you gonna feel more emotion for a teen, or an old man?

ViewtifulScott

Old Snake in MGS4 evoked more emotion from me than any teenaged hero in any game, JRPG or otherwise.

deffinitely Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time for SNES. anyone who's played that game before has beaten it at least 20 times, and im just the same. i think my best completion time is 30 minutes with my big sis.

P.S. can i get a w00t w00t for TMNT 4 re-shelled tonight? XD
