Powerful trailer--and very sad. I like seeing Kratos as a father and husband capable of human emotions (besides hatred and rage). I had grown used to seeing him only as a beast.

I just hope that the game can really walk the fine line between his humanity and inhumanity, while delivering a good storyline and solid gameplay.

You are probably right regarding no B/C, which could be a great selling point for PS4 (that is, making it B/C). I'm personally in no rush to get a new console and will wait at least a few years to see what happens (and for the prices to come down). And yeah, an effort to kill the used game market with online DRM or some other nonsense will be a deal-breaker for me too.

I'm sure that the hardware in both consoles will be fine and powerful enough. My concern is whether Sony and MSoft will try to kill the used game market by requiring online connectivity and registration. To me, that's really the thing that they are getting from the PC market (the DRM).

My other concern is backward compatibility.

I agree with CyborgNinja on the online DRM. Blizzard's policy is really not even about piracy. It's about making sure that no buyers of the game can sell the game used. Greed, essentially. If I pay $60 for a game, the seller certainly shouldn't have a right to tell me when to play or whether I can sell or give the game away.

Yes, the online requirement--even for single player--was my reason for not getting the game. I very much liked D2, but I just can't abide D3's requirement of an internet connection even for just the single-player content (which is all I play).

This seems to be a DLC dump right before the inevitable announcement of the game-of-the-year edition. If you don't have Skyrim yet, just wait a little while longer for the GotY edition. That's a more cost-effective option, and you'll get all of the DLC on disk.

I am personally skeptical of the quality of the PS3 downloads. What suddenly changed to make Skyrim's functionality better on PS3? The core game struggles on the PS3. Why would the DLC improve things, as opposed to making them worse?

@Estel78 @thequickshooter I still play PS2 games, though I have separate PS2 and PS3 consoles. I think that backward compatibility is very important, especially since PS3 games will be made long after the PS4 comes out (as was the case with PS2 games after the arrival of the PS3 console). I would not want to have a PS2, PS3, and a PS4 plugged up to my TV. It's a waste of space and money.

I also agree with quickshooter that I'll be skipping both new consoles if they block used games or require always online DRM. Unless new games are going to be dirt cheap (which they won't be), I find efforts to kill the used-game market to be offensive.

@Dirty_Window @Ernesto_basic "Coming: When It's Ready" just seems like a lame way of saying "we just started this project, don't have a lot of money, and y'all will just have to wait and see if we finish it." It just doesn't inspire confidence. I don't believe that a developer should even advertise a game until it is pretty far along in development and at least a release year can be mentioned.
