Just the segments shown here freak me the eff out. That first glimpse of the Alien, in shadow, you can just see the shape of the head and the bloody teeth, I felt like a flippin' five year old.

In truth, this is one of the first Reality Check vids that I felt truly hit the potential for the show. Some previous topics have been a bit forced, but this was interesting! I listen to game music all the time, Skyrim OST is on as I type. For me it's calming - a way to take a slice of my own little world with me wherever I go. I have previously suffered from anxiety issues, and game music was a key calming trigger for me.

Danny, old sock, old shoe.....you sir, could present on national TV, easily. Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad you do shows like this for Gamespot, but you're the star of the whole deal. Wonder whether we'll see you presenting something world class, at some point. Hope so!

Pay to play simply doesn't work. WoW was the game changer, and it's able to continue the trend because of its quality, the loyalty of the gamer base and for the sheer addictiveness of the gameplay. But new titles attempting to begin as P2P will simply alienate gamers. The smart move is always to make the initial price you pay all you need to play. Guild Wars 2 is the perfect example. A silly, silly move.

The only disappointment for me is that it looks almost precisely the same, bar some graphical tweaks. The buildings look the same, the supermarket layouts are identical, the zombies die with the same animation, the crouch-run looks identical, the vault.....

But, as they said, it is pre-alpha. I just hope that it releases with the soul of DayZ, but with dressing that looks modern, slick and new. If it looks like a simple re-boot of the mod, people will have their expectations squashed. BUT, will likely buy it, but not day one.

I feel like I've just been booted in the balls. In fact, a boot in the balls would be preferable to this. Someone boot me in the balls, please.

Microsoft will basically nail themselves to the wall with an always online component. PS4 will steal the whole show, and rightly so.

@capper64 You beat me to it, my friend. Was just typing the exact same thing. If you can manufacture that same immersive atmosphere, the same helplessness, loneliness and terror, you have 80% of an Aliens game. Mix in some areas where you have some decent weaponry (like Ripley + flamethrower/pulse rifle) but make that offset against even more dire circumstances. People do not want to be a kick ass space marine in an Aliens game, they want the s*** scared out of them. They want the films.

I'm going to shout out Soldier of Fortune for a future video!! But to be honest, what a game Quake III: Arena was. Legendary.

What, 0.5 seconds to mention Myst? It was the best selling game of all time on PC until The Sims came along! OK, not the same type of point-n-click adventure as Monkey Island/Broken Sword et al............but come on! If Myst isn't a point and click adventure what the heck is it? And did I mention that it was the best selling game of all time on PC until The Sims? Because that is fairly critical when listing the best of the genre, wouldn't you say?
