"Delays are nothing new for Rockstar-developed titles, as the original Red Dead Redemption was also delayed, while GTA V was pushed back as well"

It's hard to overstate how hard you missed the mark on this statement. Virtually every game Rockstar has developed and/or published in the 21st century has been delayed. Max Payne 3, LA Noire, GTA Episodes, Beaterator, Chinatown Wars, Midnight Club LA, GTA IV, Manhunt 2, Bully...hell, I'm tired of typing them and I'm only back to 2006.
