SARS had a lot of cases in April 2003 in the US. Cases appeared 29 states and by July it was totally contained with no new cases and all travel restrictions worldwide were lifted. SARS-CoV is also a coronavirus and was considerably more deadly than the current COVID-19 outbreak.

It's probably reasonable for their to be events in June as hopefully we will be where there are no new cases by that time.

@xenomorphalien: Huh? Skyrim is the best selling VR game. Fallout VR and Doom VR are also AAA games that are available for VR. Skyrim VR came out excellent btw.

@Yams1980: The game itself is really, really good though. You must not have played it because there is no "grind" at all. The nemesis system really makes this game a blast.

@xenomorphalien: Same thing applies to gaming actually. It provides new and genuinely unique ways to experience and play games. The difference between playing Skyrim for example in VR versus my monitor is the perfect example. Interacting with an NPC where they are literally sitting in front of you where they have scale and create a taste of the feelings you would have if that NPC really existed. NPC's that were totally irrelevant automatons suddenly are intimidating etc... People who haven't tried that aspect of it certainly should to find out. I laugh when I see people trying to compare VR to 3D TV's.

@xenomorphalien: That's like saying color monitors or mice were once just a fad on PC's. The use cases for VR are mind blowing, NOT a fad.

@R4gn4r0k: It's a "review" not a commemoration/homage. The reviewer did indeed contrast it to older version of AOE and even bothered to list what sorts of modern features are "in" and which typical ones weren't incorporated.

The info in the review this time was solid and was not an analysis of what sort of contribution to RTS games AOE made. If I had written a review of AOE:DE I would place it around the same as the reviewer.

@wtf_666:Total sales of VR hardware and software products were about $2.7B in 2017 up from about $1.5B in 2016. It's growing ~45% per year or so. Comparing it to Kinect with it's minuscule total number just exposes a lack of knowledge.

@hughesyboozy: The Pimax uses a new type of LCD called an LPLCD. In effect it's an lcd made for VR. I think most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference between that and an OLED. In "the blu" the blacks were quite deep on the pimax.

@eldrach: I tried it. The Pimax is indeed very "next gen". It certainly had some rough edges but in the short time I tested it at CES it was quite epic. If they can clean it up a bit it will be easily the most immersive vr experience.
