@livedreamplay: This is obviously a higher up decision, forced upon Spencer. The only logical thing for XBOX would be to keep it grounded and game centric. Ms however, wants a unified marketplace among PCs, the XBOX brand and windows phones.
Yet again they are trying to expand and unify systems that each, would've be a lot better serving its own purpose alone.
Yet again they are trending new grounds; but very dangerous, risky, market splitting grounds
Yeah yeah Sony is rolling thunder but I expect a radical change in the "console" market, when both companies start introducing "upgrade" peripherals. It seems this might actually be the last traditional console generation, where the next cycle will just bring us a unified ecosystem and an upgradable base frame, ala PC. MS is already pushing it hard with windows 10, although, at its current state, the marketplace sucks.
Sigh, I just want my traditional console systems to remain as they are. I've already got a darn PC and I've spent too much over the years upgrading it, I don't need 2 more just for the ecosystems. Also Steam. Good luck MS with that competition.
They don't look realistic to me and i'm thankful for that. The game loos absolutely awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
At the end of the day though, I don't play pokemon for the realistic depictions of fantasy animals. I play the games for escapism. Not to mention that the more the models become realistic, the more the games will cross that grey line of implied animal abuse.
Why shouldn't I just buy a Win 10 PC then? In general i'm all for Phil Spencer, he really went above and beyond to improve XBOX but it seems to me that they are trying to enter full PC territory. A very tricky territory mind you, which already has thousands of upgrade options and seemingly, MS's support via the Win 10 store.
It kinda loses the already hindered advantage consoles had over PC, just plug them and play. No options, optimaizations etc all in an easy and simple ecosystem.
Actually, I find hololens a lot more interesting than VR. You heart it from me and you better remember it well, Hololens will be the future, VR will sink. There's room for only one tech.
The funny thing is I don't even own an XBOX one, nor do I like MS in general.
