@blaise0fgl0ry: I'm not a sucker. I'm a gamer and I enjoy games. You call yourself hardcore but from what I can gather you seem to be into retro games more than anything. I read some of your posts and you use terms like old school gamers, golden age gaming and reference these things to imply older is better then new. Seems to me the problem isn't modern games but your inability to evolve. Have fun being stuck in the past man. Meanwhile I'll be over here enjoying what modern gaming has to offer!!
@blaise0fgl0ry: Gaming isn't being ruined. We have more variety and creativity in games then ever before. And what exactly would be on a "hardcore gamers" list anyway?
@cranston53: Clever. However my intention isn't to bicker, I can be objective. Sure the game isn't perfect, I've had issues getting on and off the horse and occasionally there's been times the Ai and combat has stumbled due to my surroundings in game. I'm sure reviewers have noticed this too but like me wouldn't bother mentioning it as in the grand scheme of the game it hardly detracts from an excellent experience. The combat is sluggish to you but that's your opinion and not one most share, nor is it a flaw, hence it not being mentioned in reviews. There is a synergy between the combat and rpg elements of the game that make it excellent but based purely and simply on the combat alone maybe it does feel slow (especially if your a fan of fast paced action) So I can understand why u may feel that way about the combat. However from a fan of the game that's not how I see it, to me it's a big intricate beautiful world with so much more than just the combat alone. I'm assuming you understand this to an extent as u said u understand why people like the game but then also inadvertently contradict your self when you ask why no reviewer has mentioned the slow combat which is based on your opinion not fact. Ive tried to be somewhat objective and understand and consider an alternate point of view and i hope you'll do the same.
@Salt_AU: the long load times were an issue in bloodborne because you die more often. I don't believe the witchers load times are an issue at all as it's such a big game people probably play for hours without even seeing it. As for fallout having more stuff going on in the background i disagree. The witchers story is way more intense and every decision you make has alternate paths, sure fallout has a few alternate paths and decisions to be made but none that are as constant or epic as the witchers. Personally I'd rather a more engaging story and watch how my decisions play it, but if moving an Object is what u hold in high regard then unfortunately u might miss the beauty and intricate details of games like the witcher.
