Like I said earlier, there are other avenues here. But everybody is missing the point here. It isn't the fact that we have to pay for maps. I have no problem with that. The problem here is the fact that MS is forcing Epic to charge a fee for something that they want to give away for free. Anyway, it sounds like they reached a compromise and will charge the early users and make it free later so technically, everybody will get the maps at the price they are willing to pay.

[QUOTE="sophospeare"][QUOTE="snackdaddy"]It doesn't have the 65nm processor either. It doesn't matter. So what it makes the console a little cooler. Not sure on that one...they would have had to redesign the MB so maybe they used cooler chips or something. My guess is a better heat sink and more efficient fan. Thats the main purpose of it, to stop over heating because some people dont give the 360 enough space or ventilation.[QUOTE="Mikerules868"][QUOTE="sophospeare"][QUOTE="Mikerules868"][QUOTE="sophospeare"][QUOTE="Mikerules868"]Get the Elite.Mikerules868

Also, XBL is definitely worth the $50 a year.
Yeah, I didn't understand the point of bringing out a whole new version of the console and not putting the 65nm processor in it, but I don't make those decisions. Now they'll have a 2nd redesign of the brand new MB when the new processor is available. I'm holding on upgrading until the new processor is available. The Elite is tempting, but not tempting enough to make me sell my current console for a new one. I think it will have it after all why wont they put it in? Not sure, but everything I've read says it won't be in the Elite and that it will be a bit longer before it shows up in any console. I guess we'll find out pretty soon and if they do put it in the Elite, I be marching out to get one.It doesn't have the 65nm processor either. It doesn't matter. The only thing that would do is let MS send some IT people home early. The only way you will really hurt MS is to not renew your Live membership. That hurts their bottom line and only at that point would they begin to listen to you. The problem with that is that it also hurts us, since we wouldn't have Live during that time.Â
If you really feel that strongly about it, start a petition, get word of mouth out to everyone you know...especially the GeOW players. Have them all send emails to MS to barrage the system. Threaten not to buy MS published games anymore (except Halo 3, of course) and back that promise up. If you really want to be extreme, go to Redmond and picket them.Â
Sadly, I feel like it would be a lost cause since I believe a majority of gamers are OK with paying for some new maps. And most of them already know it's not Epic's fault that MS is so friggin greedy. But hey, if you get organized, let me know, I'll be glad to sign the petition and/or shoot an email to them.
