@gpicora: I could be mistaken, but I believe the games take place after the books in the Witcher timeline.

This is why Ciri is older in the games.

@spartanx169x: For me it's not a love of Steam, but rather a hatred of anti-consumer practices. Exclusives, aside from original IPs (EA games on Origin, Valve games on Steam etc), have no place in PC gaming.

Everybody that I know who is holding off because of the timed exclusivity is doing so not because they have a hard-on for Steam...but because what Epic is doing is bullshit.

Even if the Epic launcher was equal to Steam in features (which it is not) this would still be bullshit.

On that note, if they hadn't made it an exclusive (timed or otherwise), I would have zero problem picking it up on the Epic store...even with the lack of features in the launcher.

To summarize, I don't care which launcher it is on...I have at least a dozen on my PC already from all the games I play...launcher doesn't dictate which games I buy and which games I don't. Shady practices, however, I stand firmly against...and will speak with the only voice most publishers care about any more...my wallet.

Loot that is worth grinding for would be a good addition.

@jaybass: She can give it whatever score she wants, review scores are meaningless to me. There are many games I love that were given scores below 7, and many games I haven't enjoyed at all that were given scores of 8 or 9.

But I agree with the negative points listed seem to be without merit. I enjoy a challenge when I play a game... I don't want to be hand-held through fights and spoon-fed content.

She said the boss fights "lacked excitement". I fought the titan boss on hard mode with a friend and was knocked out of the battle in one hit about 9 times....the rest was spent in a frantic panic dodging fire attacks and getting in what shots I could with the devastator on his weak points....it certainly never lacked excitement.

@gamingdevil800: Honestly I spent about 2 hours in freeplay collecting mats and doing world events and had all but one thing done on this quest.

I thought it was going to be a terrible grind but it went by super fast.

@jaybass: Aye, people expect it to be something it was never intended to be. While there are issues I have with Anthem, this review seems a bit off the mark.

She complains about the heat mechanic but once you learn how to fight these enemies (and learn how to dodge) it is almost never an issue during the fights. While traversing the game world there are many ways to cool your thrusters to extend your flight (skimming water, steep dives, waterfalls, etc).

My biggest issues are the bugs, load times and server disconnects... most of which will hopefully be patched out in the near future. I am also not fond of the painfully slow speed at which you navigate the hub world... but that is a minor gripe.

As for the story...yeah its a bit short but I didn't find it hard to follow at any point. Given that this is a multiplayer game I expect the story to be expanded with content updates as with most other multiplayer games.

I had 2 friends on the fence about picking this one up so I let them have a go on my PC and both are now in with their own accounts and having a good time.

@andyvecc011: It's up to the developers to make the most of the hardware, if they choose not to...that's on them...not Microsoft.

There is also the possibility that the game was designed around 30fps and going to 60fps may screw with certain game functions. Take the first 2 souls games for instance. They were ported to PC at 30fps....and although you can mod them to run at 60 or higher...it messes with things in the game. You can't jump as far and weapon durability drops super fast.

I have never played Destiny so I don't know if this is the case, just saying it's possible.

@FLEEBS: It's more of a tablet than a gaming system. Not even a great tablet either... 720p resolution? The Nexus 7 I bought my daughter cost me a similar price and has a resolution of 1920x1200.

Nintendo's last actual "gamer" system was the Gamecube.

Perhaps if they ditch the idea of a "screen in your hands", and focus their energy on making a console that performs well on the 65" TV... I would be more interested.

Perhaps if they took to effort to make an actual gamepad that works well instead of the 2 cheap looking screen attachments the switch comes with..I may be more interested.

Honestly, most people I know who were interested in the NX/Switch over the course of its development were instantly turned off when it became public knowledge that it would have a handheld screen.
