@ceelogreen94: I don't know where you got that idea. Technology is the application of knowledge. Technology companies sell products based on that application. Those products are in no way limited to hardware.
@ceelogreen94: Software is technology. They're a tech company. It's literally in the first sentence of their wiki page. If you want to make a distinction without a difference to imagine a world where the end consumer can sue a trillion dollar company into not publishing their IP on other consoles then have at it.
@ceelogreen94: Xbox is a part of Microsoft, which is a tech company. I don't see how that quote is real seeing as Ori is already on Switch, Minecraft is on everything, and we already know that CoD will remain multiplat. Phil said after the Bethesda acquisition that it was their intention to ship Bethesda games on platforms where game pass exists. The thing is that is doesn't matter that much what Phil's intentions are. What matters is what Nadella and the shareholders want to do. What it seems they want to do is get the largest immediate return on investment. We'll see for sure on Wednesday.
Xbox is not going to betray their fans for multiple reason. The biggest reason is with Microsoft, because they are own record saying certain things will lead to a massive class action Lawsuit for defrauding their customers and trust me that is a court battle, they will lose, and it will hundreds of billions they will have to payout. So this right here is a non-starter issue at hand.
Tech companies make promises and then abandon hardware all the time. Users are left with the e-waste.
