I don't usually post on System Wars forums for simple reasons that majority of the topics are miss-informed and misguided by personal agenda's, however I'd like to express my feeling on so much negativity that PlayStation 3 had been receiving from people and media.

I'll keep it short and to the point.

With today's announcement of Slim PS3 and price cut on all current PS3 models to 299$ lets take a look at what PS3 Slim has to offer when it's released this September:

- 299$ Price, 120GB Hard-Drive, Blu-ray player, free online gaming, phenomenal library of diverse, quality Exclusive Games that we already have, are on the way this year as well as 2010 and beyond - not to mention multiplatform games. I won't even count it increasingly growing HOME community and things to do in it, not perfect but working Internet Browser, micro-managing with fun an easy, your Photos, Movies and Music or the superb PlayStation Network games collection, or being able to swap your hard-drive for less then 100$ for 500GB of storage if desirable.

The value for the money that PS3 Slim will offer is outstanding.

If you haven't purchased a PS3 yet and were waiting on Price drop, as early as August 19th.2009 (tomorrow) you can pick up your console at 299$.

There is no more excuses not to pick-up PS3 if you're desire one.

Gaming should be about fun and good time with friends and family, or individually.

Are there 1TB laptop drives, i mean, you can go higher than 500GB, right? Also, you could put an SSD inside, if you really wanted to, but I presume that will be insane, as prices of SSD's are more than the console itself.

Anyway, that's my Two Cents

For me, a console is not really for aesthetics, just that will it keep cool, and not **** up when needed. I mean, you can just keep it in a cupboard, and expose the disc drive.

Aah, the PS3 Slim......

I just hope that they did not mess something up, like when the 80GB model got backwards compatibillity removed. The only thing they might have done, is that they may have done a separate power brick, a little bit like a 360. Also, i hope they didn't make the expensive cell chip and blu-ray drive out of knock-off silicon, like with the 360. I was kinda peeved off when i couldn't play halo 3, as i got the E74 error.

Because whenever somebody creates something half-decent, there will always be people who, instead of appreciating such hard work, end up flaming, as they cannot do anything similar, and/or being jealous. That is life, and it is crap.

When choosing between these two consoles, when you weigh it all up, there is really one question. "Do you want Blu-ray, or not?" The whole thing with "better graphics", and the PS3 will beat xbox, when the time is right is quite retarded. They have had 2 and a half years to perfect programming, why haven't they done that yet? Of course, Killzone 2 will be dragged in, but that took 5 years to develop, and it dropped from metacritic soon enough. So, if you want blu-ray, free online, and Sony's lineup of games (Various RPG's, God of War, Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone, Grand Turismo) then get a PS3. If you don't give a **** about blu-ray, will be bothered to pay for a more comprehensive online experience, and the other peripherals required, and prefer Microsoft's lineup of games (Halo, Forza, Project Gotham Racing, Mass effect, Left 4 Dead, Crackdown, Various other RPG's), then get an Xbox. I got an Xbox, because my Apple TV can download HD films from iTunes anyway. I better duck now, so i can avoid the fanboys.

All the guy is saying, is that he prefers the more varied environments of Halo 3, whether it be blue covenant battleships, the green of High Ground, or the Yellow of Sand trap. To this, i actually agree. Going in theatre, and slowing down the clips, everything is rendered beautifully, and i don't give a rat's ass whether AA is added or not. If i really wanted graphics, i would just run my PC. However, Killzone 2 is so much better, in raw graphics and polygons, than Halo 3. I have had the pleasure of playing it at my friend's house, and it is stunning, and nothing can take that away. It's just that the colours used are about 5, Grey, Black, Yellow, Green, and Brown. That's all i got to say. Goddamn these Console Wars, can't everyone get along??

Hello, The thing with Crysis 2, is that the whole photorealism thing is quite far away, being that real-time ray-tracing, which is what studios such as pixar, and dreamworks use, and what was used in the killzone 2 2005 trailer, is still quite far away from hitting our own homes. This means that the whole "maybe like pixar" thing would be far-fetched. I can imagine it being totally awesome, and getting people to have monster rigs with 2000W power supplies, racks of 16 Core Intel Xeons repurposed for gaming, and 8 graphics cards, or something like that. Consoles would probably have to play the game at 720p, or 640p, depending on background detail, HDR, and other effects. I remember trying to render a complex scene with background in 3ds max, and it was a Pain in the ass to finish. I then noticed that i had got something wrong (Doh!) Overall, I guess that rasterisation, the technique used in modern computer games, could get a result that is extremely close to the wonder of ray-tracing, and create an awesome game, graphically. The main aim, IMO, is that to get gameplay right first, then add all the nice shiny bits. I also reckon that Cows and Lems will be arguing till release, with Cows saying that the xbox will crash running Crysis 2, and Lems saying that such a thing is not the case, as the xbox's graphic chip is better than the PS3s, or something along those lines. Well, that's my two cents.
