played from start to end Crysis 2 on consoles, and i didnt enjoy its graphics or gameplay. I played halo 4, and was blown away by the campaign in terms of graphics and gameplay, and i'm no Halo Nut.
@gavdann its a very unique experience, one that i was happy to partake in, its a different direction to where gaming could go. So yes i would recommend it.
@SolidTy you can argue about it in many ways. but if you look at the price of what you can buy for example a coke can 15years ago compared to today, its probably 3times cheaper, (depending on country of course), yet know one is complaining about it. Also the fact that many studios are closing, or bought by the mega companies like EA, is a clear sign that the profit margin has become very small, and the risk factor too high. Many studios are playing it safe for this reason.
@abnergoinbig @punz_ i finished uncharted 3 a few days ago, and was completely blown away, saying that to myself "this is true next gen, the 360 cannot do this". after that i started playing dark souls, and funny enough i started comparing those two games, although they are so different. One game is the result of the direction modern games are taking, which i think is very dangerous. The other is has gone back to the past, a homage to what made games great, i kinda feel like its saying an "F U" to modern game design.
@SolidTy i'm in the mindset that games are too cheap. they have been the same price for the last 15years, but development cost has gone up astronomically. i'm no developer, just a gamer but i look at it from a business point of view, and what is best to keep getting the best games possible. You more likely than not, get what you pay for. for this reason i do not pirate games.
@Vatusus i was a xbox fanboy since microsoft entered the console market, and wouldn't touch any sony console. but earlier this year i bought a ps3, because my bluray player died, and i wanted to play the exclusives, heavy rain, god of war, uncharted, and what a great decision that was :).
@SolidTy fear not my friend, all should be good :) we should rejoice that we have a wonderful stream of great games, unlike the good old, bad old days.
