Primarily a PC gamer given the option. This past Gen though I did buy both consoles within the launch year, but I'm going to sit this one out for a while.
I didn't use either console as much as I thought, the XBO even less since MS games tend to launch on PC.
@jwrebholz: I haven't played SotTR yet, but I did play RotTR...I think TR has the better combat system. The combos and finishers were pretty damn rewarding by the time I got late in the game.
If an old HD 7870 is the minimum spec, then a GTX 1060 paired with a 3rd Gen i5 or better should be enough to get solid framerates hitting 60 fps at least.
PC gaming isn't difficult, it just takes a pinch of effort.
I think with the Switch, users might need to commit to how they plan to use it. If an end-user commits to treating it as a console, then an SSD or External HDD should be possible, greatly improving storage and load times.
If portability is the priority, then cartridges and/or SDXC might be the way to go. However, from what I've read, Micro SDXC is slower than a 5400RPM HDD, which is painfully slow by today's standard.
