@electro57: And how do you find items worth trading? By grinding. Yeah it is a MASSIVE time sink or a money sink.

Either way the game isn't good enough to justify it.

I HAVE played the game several times and bounced off of it every time. But hey you knew that didn't you? You know everything clearly including what other people are thinking.

Hell if the community has people like you in it I'm GLAD I don't play it.

My issue with Warframe is that it is still too focused on paying for stuff to have real fun.

If you don't pay you get bland crap weapons/frames.

Playing missions which are still bland and boring busy work quests (go here and fight waves of enemies) (go here and clear out the map of enemies)(go in and blow up some computers)(repeat until your local ambulance service arrives to scrape your corpse from your gaming chair).

With the prospects of a seriously long and arduous grind to get anything of worth.

It has improved a LOT since it first came out. It is now very pretty and they have improved the variety of gameplay.

BUT considering what I said above that is more a testament of just how terrible it was when it first came out that its current state can be seen as an improvement because frankly it is still really bad.

Or you can pour money into it and you get some items that are actually fun to use and which make the other problems less annoying.

@jsprunk: Yeah that is great game design, making a map that is appealing only to people that happen to have visited Boston.

The entire point of a video game is that you can explore and interact with places you've never been to before or it isn't physically possible to visit.

According to Fallout 4 Boston is f*cking boring and that's during the apocalypse. A time period you'd think would provide endless wonder and entertainment from all the crazy sh*t going on yet Bethesda didn't bother adding any to Fallout 4.

It was just mundane boring characters and p*ss poor missions. Go do the Museum of Witchcraft everyone said. It's awesome everyone said. It was just a deathclaw in a museum! F*cking morons. It might have been more impressive if they hadn't made us fight one in the first five minutes of the game!

Yeah but Fallout 4 had absolutely nothing interesting to see in the entire map/game.

If Fallout 76 is four times bigger it is going to need eight times more engaging content to make it a good game.

Which judging by the slide in quality of Bethesda's RPG's I don't think they are physically capable of that anymore.

@rolento25: Way ahead of you.

I've played games since I was able to hold a controller and I can't even find the motivation to fire up a game any more.

Says a lot about how far this industry has fallen. People who defend the trash that passes for games these days need their heads looking at.

@Dark_Mits: There is a very good chance that DOOM 2 will feel like a simple expansion pack and not a new game BECAUSE it is so derivative. That is the problem. In which case why even buy it? Why not just go play the original again?

DOOM had some advantages that made it stand out, the massive jump in graphics from 3, the glory kills that changed it up a bit and the fact it kept the same no reloading, twitchy strafing combat from the originals.

We've already seen DOOM graphics so if DOOM 2 comes out with the same graphics they won't stand out.

The glory kills were unique and not everyone liked them. I felt myself that I wish it would stop taking control away from me and just let me use my gun more, but you have to glory kill to get ammo. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. If the next game is just the same glory kills as the first game again there will be nothing there to make it stand out from the first game.

Then you've got the combat which is the cornerstone of this game which they can't really change.

So what exactly is going to make DOOM 2 a game in its own right and not just a map pack?

@rolento25: Yeah coupled with some ACTUALLY good games. Now the games suck and the show does as well.

Because the game was so badly designed in the first place they are now trying to fix it.

I can understand bug fixing after the fact and adding expansion packs but major surgery on a game that changes fundamental aspects of it just show that the game was f*cked to start with.
