@dominoodle: One of the main reasons it pirates, they don't want people tearing the game apart before its even out. And really how many pc demos come out these days, console demos are rare enough as is. The games press was allowed to play the pc demo a couple months ago and most people were thoroughly pleased with it. No doubt some people will have issues, no game comes out perfect, surely they've learned from the Dishonored 2 launch. We'll find out Friday.....
@bruta: it SHOULDN'T be like Dishonored, since its not using the same engine. They're using CryEngine which is has been tried and tested on numerous games so HOPEFULLY we get a stable port this time. Though Dishonored was fine after a couple patches lol
A) SOME of that goes on Sony for promoting this like it was a AAA center piece for their system but not giving the proper guidance to Hello Games to know how to properly promote it themselves.
B) Games media for following the hype and continuing to pump up hype even after playing it themselves.
C) Hello Games for damn well knowing that the game wasn't ready for launch but still pumping it out without saying "hey we know the game isn't finished but we're going to keep adding features wada wada wada)

On a side note, its really cool they're sticking by their word and releasing multiple big updates for free and actually trying to make this game into sometime worth playing. God could you imagine the backlash if they charged money for the updates, the streets would run red with blood lmao.
Hm, they only have 7 games coming out at launch and they still couldn't even put Binding Of Isaac: Afterbirth+ in their little chart.....but to be honest Im really surprised its coming to the system this early or at all. Mainly cause Nintendo made them change a handful of things for the Wii-U release. But hey being 1 of only 7 games should help its odds at exposing more people to the twisted world that is Isaac lol.
@Tangsta03: As you said earlier it's subjective. Someone might get bored in minutes and then there's people that will play it for 200+ hours. Here's hoping its half as good as i hope it will be, still on the fence about pre ordering this.
I'm thinking this will be a game akin to minecraft where in you make the majority fun yourself cause it has only a loose structure to guide you. Pretty much if you like games like Minecraft and love exploring vast worlds with little to no guidance you'll probably like NMS, if not then you wont.
on a side note: i wonder if somehow if enough people descended on a tiny planet if they could teraform it into nothingness or maybe into a shape other than a sphere since that would be a big enough event to be saved to the global servers. just a weird tangent of a thought i had.....
@SkytheWiz1: hype talk aside you missed some major points.
There IS a story they're just not talking about it yet but they hired sci-fi writers to help flesh out the story and world lore, what more direction to you need, the standard save your girlfriend from the evil space lord?, there IS teraforming, there IS NPC's, there IS trading among races and pirate factions, there IS ship customization to a degree, there ARE persistent things tracked (kill a whole species, teraform on a massive scale) and it sticks to the global server and thus everyone else's game. I DO agree the lack of being able to build structures is kinda lame but maybe in a later update they'll add something like that if the game takes off and has legs.
Not saying this game will be the coolest thing since smores pop-tarts but at least get your bullet points right. Here's hoping the games not a complete flop, I'm really on the fence about pre-ordering this one, got burned on watchdogs and have been careful to not have that happen again.
