Next Gen is long over due. All these new consoles should've been hitting the shelves this year but unfortunately the Big 3 are getting lazier and don't have the gamers interest in mind. I do agree though with the lack of creativity comment but seriously it's not 2006 Anymore. This gen consoles are all atleast 6 years old and all these Next Gen consoles need to be moved out so the industry can evolve. Unfortunately we're going to have to wait until 2014 before the new Sony and Microsoft consoles drop before we start seeing any progress.
Nintendo second guessing themselves isn't a good sign. I'm personally not concerned about the new controller, it's all about the games. I will only get the Wii U when the new Zelda hits the shelves around 2015.
People are sick of being ripped off and the average gamer have finally figured out that MMORPG are a scam. I remember playing WoW for a couple of hours back in 2006 and I realised very quickly the genre was prostitute.
Everything's going to be digital very soon. Looks like the days of going to your local game shop and picking up a copy of a game will be a thing of the past. Before you know it kids are going to start calling us dinosaurs for using a Compact Disc.
Activision aren't going to make a new engine unless they have to eg. Next Gen. No company is going to risk losing 2-3 billion dollars just to make a few people happy. As long as people buy this rubbish as an annual event, there's no way in hell they're going change a winning formula.
