@Thanatos2k: that's twice as powerful as the xbox one x in graphics. the xbox one x is very powerful.. held back by the CPU which only saw a modest overclock. Despite this, games in 4K on it look amazing. twice as powerful as this will be big. Why? because it's a whole different architecture now, Ryzen Gen 2. Not Jaguar. It's going to be a beast. PS5 will too... both consoles, again, are using the same architecture. It's going to come down to what each does with it, but you can expect similar performance.

@sabredj: I think the games from those studios are still a year or two out. personally I don't care.. just bring the good games. I can wait. We ALL.. .Xbox and Playstation fans alike.. are in game overload now as it is. I don't mind one bit a little bit more time between game releases.. add quality and polish like Blizzard does.. "when it's done." and make it great. Enough of this: let's rush games to market, then release a day one patch. nonsense! I think we all can agree about that!

@krazeekhujo05: you're mistaken. They were released by Microsoft.. they're not worried if it's on steam. as was pointed out all ready.. not everyone wants to play these games on PC. I have it on PC and I still prefer my Xbox One X. if it's looking better or running faster on the PC .. it's very hard to tell.. even with max. One X does a great job.

For Microsoft.. it's more about overall sales. If Sony made an operating system, like Microsoft does, they.. no doubt.. would also sell their games on PC.. These companies are about making money from game and console sales, not about maintaining "exclusives."

great stuff.. MCC has come a LONG way since launch.. and it's awesome now. weird it's not fully available for PC on launch, but I'm sure 343 is polishing up the other games, as to not make the same mistakes they made back when MCC launched. they'll be worth waiting for. Reach on both PC and X looks amazing now.. worth playing all over again.

I play on console and prefer that. I work at the PC all day and prefer to get out of the "office" for gaming. If you bought it on Xbox you have it for free on PC too anyway.. part of Microsoft's Play Anywhere.. which is awesome.

@gamer112696: your opinion. It works because 3D TV never took off, the same way VR is not really taking off. The tech exists, and is good on PC. I have friends that have it. But it's not at a point where it can be done for long gaming sessions. It's not relevant enough for all consoles to do it. Where's Nintendo's answer? They're not onboard either, so it's not just Microsoft. It doesn't matter either way. I'll never be buying it.. at least not for maybe 10 years.. maybe then it'll be good enough that people won't get sick when using it. I know this happens too.. from reviews, and from the input of my friends who have Oculus.

At that time I thought Microsoft was going to go the Oculus route too.. it made sense. But I think that's why they didn't.. it's about business and profit and there clearly isn't enough demand for it. Lord knows the Xbox One X is powerful enough for it. Either way, I'm not disappointed. I think of it as just another gimmick. Nice, but not necessary.

I've had a Playstation Pro for years now, but have never been tempted to get the equipment. It's still early at best. I've never cared about VR and probably never will. Phil's right. it doesn't matter right now. I think of it like 3D Televisions.. where are they now?

this is interesting because Microsoft has been doing this for years, and now what was thought of as a very special, PS4 exclusive is also being released on PC. The point is what I've said all along... studios will release games on as many platforms as possible to make money, exclusives don't matter. That's why you're getting games like Forza on both PC and Xbox, but also since Microsoft owns Windows.. they're still making money. PC/Xbox or PS4/PC doesn't matter. Just play the games you love.

indie is indie. some will be brilliant others won't. I have no doubt Sony has spent the same since they also support indie developers. it's just part of the business. no news here.. moving on.

it's really not that big of a deal. the game will be amazing regardless of platform.

that being said, it's no worse then the game Sony plays as well.. like with Call of Duty exclusivity among others. my point is here that they BOTH do stuff like this.

that being said, I remember when many of my friends who are faithful mainly to Playstation in the past have said that "true 4K" doesn't matter.. that the "games" matter. Now I'm hearing hate to Microsoft because of this. which is it?!

Personally I have both the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro. I have felt the One X has always done better with 4K games because it has.. guess why? It's more powerful then the PS4 Pro. Why? because it came out after. It's all about the hardware. Games DO look better on it.

that being said, when I first read this I didn't think it was a cheap ploy by Microsoft. that's too simplistic. I think it's more like the PS4 Pro cannot do true 4K due to hardware constraints. If anyone needs a reminder:

https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/235274-how-sonys-playstation-4-pro-does-4k-without-delivering-4k

This isn't a bad thing. It's just how the PS4 Pro does it. If Obsidian didn't want to deal with alternate methods for 4K and just provide a consistent gaming experience, they would forgo 4K for PS4 Pro. Of course, there's really no telling what's what or why.. especially from just an article. The game's not out yet. Maybe they still will in a patch. we'll have to wait and see.
