Static and electronics don't mix...that's why. It's a slim chance but, you could end up frying the PS3 due to all the static coming off a tv screen. Sony HAS to put every detail in there, cause if they didn't, somebody would be like "Hey! You never said that putting a PS3 next to a tv would fry it!"

Think of it as birth control. They say it's 99% effective. Yeah, it's 100% effective when you use it EXACTLY like it's supposed to be used, but they can't say that because they'd get the crap sued out of them.

You ought to try a BenQ monitor. I own the 20" BenQ LCD, so don't listen to anybody that tries to bash it. It's 1080P and it looks awesome. It's also under $300. I haven't had any problems whatsoever with it, and it's customer reviews speak for themselves. Some guy on here a while back got all pissed off with me and tried to tell me that Sceptre monitors were the best and blah blah blah. Yeah, that's why over 70% of the reviews say that the screens are dying within a month.

Another thing, do some research and don't listen to everything you hear. People say "Always look at the contrast ratio! If it's high it's a good screen!"

This is absolutely not true. There is no basis for giving the contrast ratio it's rating, therefore no way to monitor it. Companies rate contrast ratios in different ways so, they can pretty much put whatever number they want. 1,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio doesn't mean anything...

I would get the money first, then tell him. Hand him the money and tell him what you did and that you feel bad about it. You're kind of an idiot for stealing money using a credit card though. What if he was really close to the limit and you went over it? Now he's getting charged fees and getting f***** over by the credit card company. Also, now you get to live in guilt every minute you enjoy Warhawk. You're 14, if you're smart, you should be able to find a way to raise 40 bucks fairly quickly without stealing.

Also, when he gets his credit card statement in the mail, or online or whatever, it's going to show that charge, and it's going to tell him exactly where it came from. So good luck lying...

Warhawk has been pretty successful...what kind of sense does it make to shut it down already. Think about it...

Maybe the guy who started this topic just sucks. It shows you where whoever kills you is after they kill you dude...if someone is camping...find them and kill them. Teach them a lesson. Don't just sit and b**** about it because you keep getting shot down by missle turrets. If I get mauled by a missle turret, I'll find it on foot and blow it up with the person still on it. You say the game is about air combat. Well not really, flying is only a small part. But you contradict yourself. If the game is about flying only, then you should be good enough to dodge the missle turrets when in a warhawk no?

In short...stop complaining.

Oh yes, I forgot about the "nerd" factor. Who cares? A lot of people think videogames in general are nerdy. Are you going to cry? Does it hurt your feelings? I laugh things like that off because I know they're missing out.

A friend of mine who works for a game company under Microsoft, told me that "Nerd isn't a 4 letter word, it's a 6 figure income." He's 25 years old, and probably makes more than any of us. He's also happily married to a cute woman he met on a Final Fantasy VII chatroom.

So yeah, don't knock the nerds. As technology progresses, so do the nerds.

I'm 18 years old. I own my own vehicle, which I worked to pay for with my own money. Since I've owned my vehicle I've put over $6,000 of my own money into it. I've had a job since I was 14 years old. I have friends. I've been moved out and living on my own since the day before my 18th birthday. Mommy and Daddy haven't bought everything for me since I started working. Have they bought me stuff? Yes. But nowhere near what they did before I had a job. I "have a life". I'm very much looking forward to The Eye of Judgement.

Just because it's a card game doesn't mean that it's only for kids/young people. Some card games are quite difficult and require a large amount of strategy, and would probably be too much for a kid too young to understand completely. I'm sure people of all ages will be playing it. If anything, more adults will be playing this game than children. Why? One reason is that there is no Eye of Judgement cartoon on tv for the kiddies to watch, like Pokemon and Yugioh, etc. And unless the kid is completely spoiled, which I know a lot of children are nowadays, I doubt they have a Playstation 3 yet anyway.

You guys were saying 12 and under. I say 12 and older. I highly doubt most parents bought they're children under 12 a PS3.

This game will also be appreciated by it's art. A lot of people, myself included, enjoy stuff like this for the artwork displayed on the cards. (and now on the screen as well!) Seeing art literally come to life in your hand is really something.

Some people on these forums and in the world of videogames themselves make me laugh. Everybody is always demanding MORE MORE MORE from these games, yet they don't want to pay a few more dollars. "I want more maps for this game! They cost extra? Nevermind." Now people are complaining about the cost of cards for The Eye of Judgement. The cards will probably be quite inexpensive anyway. And don't give me the sob story about "some people not having money to blow on videogames because of bills and rent and yaddayaddayadda." Sounds to me like a lot of people don't know how to budget and manage their money if they have absolutely NOTHING to spare.

I think The Eye of Judgement will definitely be a HIT...and I hope they keep expanding the game and adding new cards.

I'm a bit tired of people complaining about how short games are. I'd rather have a short game that is so great that I can enjoy it over and over rather than a long game that I might play once and forget about. Remember the good ol' NES and SNES days? Most of those games can be beaten within a few hours if not within an hour if you know what you're doing. And yet I still play them over and over because they are so great. If you don't like an awesome game purely because of the length, then you should learn to appriciate games for what they are rather than dislike them for what they could've been. I wish we could get back to that. All gaming equals now is politics, money, and time. Let's go back to the roots of gaming people!

Well, I got Lair today and played quite a bit of here. Here is my review.

Graphics:

I might as well start here since this seems to be the highlight of the game. Personally, I was a bit letdown by the graphics. As much focus as they put on the graphics themselves, and the game being in 1080p, the graphics should be a lot more polished. Are they good? Yes. Are they the best graphics I've ever seen? Not even close. If the game ran at a solid 30 fps...the graphics would probably look better. There's not a whole lot of variety in the graphics either. Most dragons/soldiers/environments look pretty much the same. It doesn't matter how good the graphics are if they aren't running smoothly. This game's framerate never drops enough to effect the gameplay itself but I don't think it ever runs at a solid 30 fps for more than a couple seconds. The game itself has a constant slightly choppy look to it and after a while this gets annoying.

Controls/Gameplay:

Here it is...the main complaint with this game. And yes it is worthy of being the main complaint. The controls aren't hard to learn at all. Seriously. I mean I had the controls down perfectly within 5 or 10 minutes. The fact of the matter is, however, that the controls themselves are just plain bad. At first it's kind of neat to fly the dragon with the motion controls but once again, after a while it gets annoying. Gamespot was exaggerating when they said "No go right!" and showed the picture of the dragon going left. However there are times when your dragon does not do what you tell it to and that's simply because the response to the motion controls isn't sensitive enough, and your range of motion isn't unlimited. If you're heading for a building at high speed and you tell your dragon to go right, sometimes the response is slow enough that the dragon will sort of do it's own thing, as it cannot fly forward anymore. I had no problem doing the 180 degree spin manuever that people kept complaining about though. Are the controls playable and bearable? Yes. Is the game much less fun/enjoyable because of them? Yes.

The gameplay also isn't too great. Most of the time you can't tell which dragons are your enemies and which ones are your allies. After a while you just say "Screw it" and start shooting at anything that moves. If you hear somebody yelling "FRIENDLY FIRE!" or "We're on your side!", then you know they're your allies. There's not really much diversity or variety to the gameplay either. Most missions are the same and by the time you get the hang of what you're doing and start getting into it, a cutscene interrupts you, or the mission itself ends. The boss battles could've been better also. They aren't original nor are they interesting. The game's scale looked to be more impressive than something like Shadow of the Colossus at E3, but this is also a disappointment in the actual game. The maps are big and open, but they are bland and bare, filled with nothing.

Storyline:

Umm...fairly unoriginal and most of the time boring. Is that the best they could do?

Replay Value:

Well, you have to finish a game before you can replay it, and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. So I'd say none, which is a shame considering that I love dragons, and had high hopes for this game all along. Even with the bad reviews came out I never lost faith in the game. I have been screwed over by reviews so many times that I don't even listen to them anymore. *cough cough ROGUE GALAXY cough cough RAINBOW SIX LAS VEGAS cough cough*

This game is an utter disappointment. I gave it a chance, and played it quite a bit before giving up on it. I'll be trading it in along with Rainbow Six Las Vegas to pick up Heavenly Sword next week. (once again, a game I haven't lost faith in)

Oh well...I guess it's back to and Resistance/Warhawk online and Oblivion until then..

I still have love for the PS3 though! We've still got plenty of great titles to come! I just hope these developers take their time and release a quality product. I'd rather wait a few more months and have good games.

Ah...yeah I thought about downloading that but I don't have my HD monitor yet so would it really be any different than playing GT4?
