silent hill 4: the room was really slept on, but I think the prevailing opinion has swung back a little in later years as so many of us have grown up to better relate to the premise (sleep-deprived man isolated inside his apartment, with nowhere to go but a hole leading to a terrible psychic labyrinth left by the most abandoned man of the time)

a couple of reasons I can think of would be how fat everybody from there is and how much they complain about the heat even though everywhere is AC. this would be cool & fine except for how a lot of texans enjoy this image of themselves as folksy rough diamond people when they actually live like the people in wall-e. also they say 'don't mess w texas' and it's like how is someone going to hear that and not mess w texas

I think people in general would think of at least half of the OP list as kitsch 90s guy music, but probably you're just way more aware of 90s music either because it's when you were young or because the mediascape it inhabited was way less fragmented and easy to get lost in than what we have now. in any case I prefer stuff from this century

I don’t play RPGs because of RPG elements. Ironically, they take away realism to a game for me. I’ll explain. If I’m playing a shooter and I’m to ‘save the world’, how would I go into battle not fully prepared? That’s what training is for. What Battle gets harder as you progress? Especially in games where these learned RPG elements are required to progress? Huh? It’s stupid.

that's not irony because the vast majority of rpgs aren't trying to approximate reality. the genre you're thinking of are simulations
