@Simulator_Shock: Um, no. If you actually did some research you would know that Square Enix has not even started developing those DLCs as they have their hands full on actually finishing the main game. As such its impossible for those DLCs to be "parts they gutted from the main game".

Considering the Ultimate Collectors editions comes not only with a play arts kai figurine but also blu rays with the Kingsglaive movie and the Brotherhood anime I think one can easily understand where that 270 dollars price tag comes from.

@Barighm: Have you read the article? The 6th DLC you get with the season pass is literally called "Expansion pack" or are you telling me that square enix is lying here? As far as I know none of the mainline Final Fantasy games were lacking in terms of content. Sure there were some that sucked really bad (like for example FFXIII) but they were never short games.

Sigh, people are reacting as expected. I do not see why people hate this so much and yet The Witcher 3 can get a free pass for its DLC. Square Enix has already stated that the game has 200 hours worth of content. How exactly is that "barebones" in terms of content? The main story alone is 50 hours long. That is more than enough time to properly flesh out all the characters.

Absolutely awful showing. I really hope the reason for it being so bad is that the guy playing it sucks so hard at this game that he makes it look bad, just like what happened with Polygon showing Doom. And to be fair it is a possibilty if we consider that the whole footage is just him getting hit.

It is indeed very important for Final Fantasy XV to succed. The success or failure of Final Fantasy XV will not just determine the future of the Final Fantasy series but the entire JRPG genre on consoles. Like it or not, Final Fantasy is pretty much the face of the JRPG genre, as such its failure will have a huge impact on the JRPG genre as a whole.

@kumy: Yes FF13 is a terrible game but it has the content you would expect from a full seized JRPG. If these "episodes" have the same amount of content as FF13 then they are full games.

@Klyern: I meant just the main story. And yes, it took roughly 35-40 hours to go through the original FInal Fantasy 7 if you ignored side stuff like the Wutai part, beating the weapons or getting the Knights of the round and mime materia.

I have been playing jrpgs since the psone era and I do not remember a single JRPG where you needed 70-80 hours to just go through the main story. In fact you could beat Chrono trigger in just 20 hours and that is one of the most beloved JRPGs.

Did someone in the comments actually read the article? They said they are using the FFXIII games as a blueprint for this FF7 multi series. The original FFXIII was roughly 50 hours long while its sequels were roughly 30 hours long. How exactly is a 30-50 hours long game not a "full-seized game"? If you actually played some Jrpgs before you should know that 30-50 hours is basically the standard length for the JRPG genre.
