Setting aside the gameplay of the person in the video for those that don’t know this is actually an official release of a popular fan mod called Antibirth. It’s nice to see this getting an official release/incorporation into the game, because previously you would have to play it without the use of the official DLCs that came after it, and leaving out all of the items always made me a little sad.

That didn't really stop them from launching the damn thing with terrible server support now did it? Now they want me to believe they are concerned with how well the damn thing plays on their customer's computers? I'm sorry EA but it seems you have missed the point entirely.
@Vodoo The Kinect adds value in the way that getting a second drink in a combo meal adds value (mind you that meal would cost a bit more as well). It does have a purpose, it does serve various functions and does have a cost attached to it. But the problem is that for many people it is superfluous. It wasn't something we wanted before and Microsoft, still holding to idea that it was a great idea but lacked market saturation will force one into every person's household.
While I could buy it, hook it up (and for the record I have a Kinect 1.0, it is in the closet), and wave my hands and body in front of the screen to do all of those "next-gen" functions, I actually do not want them. I know that may be hard to believe, but not only does my set up (and the various other ones throughout the house) preclude it from being optimal, but I found it difficult to play games with. The tactile feedback of having a controller in my hand grounded the games in a way that made them playable, something the Kinect 2.0 didn't see fit to improve upon.
If it is something that you cannot wait to have and enjoy, great, all the more power to you and I hope you have a fantastic time with it. But do realize there is another side of the coin, and the complaints and concerns are not all big brother related and that there are just as many valid reasons to want to unplug it, even though you cannot seem to imagine them.
Microsoft is really in an unenviable position right now it seems. Public sentiment seems skew towards the negative on their system ever since it was unveiled and much of what they say and do is back pedaling.
That being said, I (a person who has no fewer than 100 new games for my 360, and I say this not to gloat, but rather to show my current support for it over my PS3) do not feel inclined to trust them. As "tin hat" as that may sound, and even though some rational part of me thinks that they have had so much flak over everything they cannot afford to tell anything but the truth anymore, even still, I just don't want to believe them. Their image has warped so much in the past 6 months or so that I really have lost all good faith that was stored up in the company. A rough road lies ahead for Microsoft, they have a long trek up Mount Consumer Trust over the next coming years.
@GodMan7 Or we'll just laugh at them even harder for trying to save face on so many fronts and this being their attempt at putting the corporate spin on the old adage about sticks and stones.
That seems a bit surprising, I thought more of the Wii U owners, or even the Pikmin fans were pretty excited for this release. I've never played one myself, just doesn't seem like something I would enjoy (console games and RTS are a bit tricky to pull off), but I heard this game did what it was supposed to and did it quite well so it seems a bit off that it didn't do better.
That's too bad, because after hearing about it and moreover the fact that it could play their mobile games on their television, I was rather excited over it and thought I just might look into it. I really hope that Sony eventually does release this over here, can't really see why not.
The problem with these articles is that they give virtually no context to the story and are really just a headline that serves to shock many people into the usual "OMG you Americans will sue over anything" sort of comment.
So while although I doubt this will have any effect on Gamespot's idea of how to run these stories, I really wish they could offer up some insight on the legal reasoning behind them, rather than just vague facts about the company. I personally work in the legal field, but do not do anything in company law, and as such am at a loss as the everyday person is, so I can understand the problem for the author to come up with this information. But before people go off and cry afoul and think that there can be nothing to the case what so ever, it would be nice if we had a little more to go on.
And on a side note with regards to the alleged frivolousness of the filing I highly doubt that this individual shareholder filed this pro per, I can reasonably assume he went to an attorney that specializes in this sort of practice - I doubt he wants to get his case summarily dismissed on the basis of being without merit.
Shocking! Microsoft doesn't like the derisive name that people have been using to encompass their disappointment with the system!
I seem to recall in a Simpsons episode that Bill Gates went to Homer and "bought out" his website too. Seems they weren't too far from the mark with their SOP.
