well for guys that already played the following games, i need recommendations from best to worse :

I would go with HAWX or Last Remnant. None of those games listed are great, but I'm playing Last Remnant right now and its okay if you swallow the cliches. The battle system feels interesting and seems to be the best part of the game.

I would much prefer the ability to actually see the enemies for primarily two reasons. The first being that actually having enemies on the screen makes it feel like they might be aviodable even if in reality they are not. Also by having enemies on the actually screen the world feels more populated with creatures. One of the biggest things I dislike is being in this so called "huge world", and to find it mostly barren with only a tree here and a brush there.

But more then random enemies or not the biggest feature I would like to see in an RPG is a good story. I know good is a purely subjective word but damn what happened to having a good story in an RPG that wasn't filled with cliches. It almost feels like a good story would be a new and exciting feature.

Because I wanted one and I've never passed on a Nintendo handheld before... except for the Gameboy Micro.

Pretty much this. While I don't really buy the color iterations; I've always had a Nintendo Handheld, and I didn't feel complete till I own at least one.
