It should sync with steam everytime you quit playing, like you'll see it change its status in your game list to 'Syncing 0%' then flash back to '100% - Ready'.

Wouldn't hurt to get it, I actually think the first is better than the second. I love how the locations in the first are much more grittier and feel more fleshed out. Half of the maps in the second feel too empty to me, like they're relying too much on using the same props over and over through out the levels. It just ends up making it feel as if they got a little bit lazy. The maps in the second are definately not of the same quality as the maps from the original.

Worst part is when someone vote kicks you from a sever because you apparently aren't playing properly. I've had this happen with L4D1 and have even been banned from servers because of idiots who kick people like this, usually no one else knows whats going on and votes 'yes' when the vote starts. Its completely ridiculous.
