I'm 20 and I love my 3DS! Sure, most of the other people I see playing one are around the age of 10, but there are so many enjoyable games on it. Games like Tales of the Abyss, Resident Evil: Revelations and Virtue's Last Reward (and many others) makes this a great handheld for everyone!

I never played the PS2 version of Tales of the Abyss (only got a PS2 for the first time 2 weeks ago!). But TotA is amazing and my playthrough on 3DS made it one of my favorite games of all time. I usually prefer turn based RPGs and silent protagonists like SMT, but this game was amazing and it's totally worth your time and money.

KH on the other hand isn't a remake, but I've never been a huge fan of KH because they lack a concrete plot and they are just not my kind of games. Although I thouroughly enjoyed 358/2 Days, KH1, and CoM. I've played the demo for DDD though, and it seems incredibly kiddie. I would reccomend trying out the demo to see if you like it. But imo TotA>>>>>>KH. You will get a lot more gameplay out of TotA, and it has an unforgettable story.

Both games are incredible and worth playing, you really should buy both!

Persona 4 is a turn based RPG combined with social/dating sim. VLR is essentially a visual novel with puzzles throughout. The puzzles are a nice change in pace in between walls of text, but they are fairly simple puzzles, the story is where VLR shines. P4 and VLR are both text heavy games and very character driven. Persona 4 has more gamplay elements, but VLR has a more engaging story throughout the whole game, where P4 often drags on without developing the plot.

Both games are amazing though, seriously.

Ruby/Saphire is welcome on the eshop where it belongs. Otherwise, or in addition to, I hope they give us gen IV and change up the formula.

I'm gonna have to side with TC on this one. What about us jrpg fans? Sure we got Kingdom Hearts, Paper Mario, and Tales of the Abyss, but what about a REAL jrpg like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest? You know, something kinda old schoolish? I'm getting kinda tired of all these action rpg's.

JBL81

Cause the 3DS is so new school! :D

But seriously, we got Etrian Odyssey IV and SMT IV coming to 3DS <3

And Tales of the Abyss is a REAL JRPG. If you want turn based RPGs there's Devil Survivor which is a helluva lot better than Final Fantasy

I find rare games in Gamestop all the time for super cheap! Gamestop does not sell games based on collector status which is awesome. I picked up Etrian Odyssey for 10 bucks and Etrian Odyssey 3 for 12 bucks. Also found 3 of the Ace Attorney games for between 10 and 20 dollars. It's nice knowing if I don't want one of the games later on (unlikely) that I can sell it for quadruple what I paid for it on ebay. This is the only reason I still shop at Gamestop :D

I thought Tales of the Abyss was fantastic and I logged nearly 100 hours (and will probably go back to it eventually). But there's Devil Survivor: Overclocked which is a brilliant game and one of my favorite games of all time! There aren't too many RPGs on 3DS (only those 2 I believe) but I have faith considering the huge RPG library on the DS. Heroes of Ruin is coming out soon, but I hear it's like 6 hours long and very easy :/

*SPOILERS* btw

So I've breezed through this game up until the battle with Io and Daichi, I've found it much easier than Devil Survivor 1 but I seem to be stuck because of my lack of usable characters. I beat Hinako and Jungo and even Shiva, but my fate with both of them is only 3 so I cannot recruit them. My fate with Daichi is also 3 so I wont be able to recruit him either.

Anyways, I am able to beat Daichi and Io in my first set of turns using Evil Flow and Matchless, but it's the other enemies that end up destroying me. I have good demons and good stats, but I can only battle with MC and AO, which seems to be the problem. After this battle I will also only be able to recruit Io, Fumi, Makato, and Keita (with only Fumi and Keita being truly useful). But it seems I won't be able to make it through this path because I screwed up the fate system. I want to do AO's route, but it seems nearly impossible. Does anyone have any hints to beating Daichi and Io's battle with only MC and AO? Luckily I have an extra save right before I chose the path, but I would prefer to do AO's first...

Anyways here's my team:

MC LV 55:
St: 11
Ma: 40
Vi: 10
Ag: 10

Drain
Recarm
Holy Dance
Mana Surge
Life Stream
Null Phys
Healing

w/ Dragon Python and Kishin Zouchouten

AO LV 55:
St: 16
Ma: 22
Vi: 15
Ag: 18

w/ Hero Jeanne d'Arc and Deity Osiris

uhhh :/

You should pick up Revelations if you've already played OoT. Both games are great though. The story in RE:R is kind of short, but Raid mode is the best part of the game. I've put nearly 60 hours into RE, so I wouldn't worry about the length. You can't go wrong with either game though ;)
