Oh and one more note... Many PC Gamers stayed at 1080P in their multi monitor setups, so they could get the faster 144 Hz refresh rates.
Oh and the smaller displays vs consoles on giant TVs mean you actually get a higher pixel density from a 1080P monitor that is 24” vs the standard 60” 4K TV.
The problem with this analysis is the same it has always been... These sites try to tell us that higher resolution gaming isn’t a real thing on the PC and then they never mention the one stat that completely destroys that narrative!
Multi-monitor resolution!
33.5% are using a setup with multiple monitors and those resolutions can be as high as 3840x1080 so that pixel density is higher than 1080P for a large portion of gamers. That number is also nearly identical to the number of people running 1080P screens.
Another factor is that someone like me with a 4K display, might not have played a steam game in months, as I haven’t found anything new that I want to play on their platform.
