Hi Gamespotters,

I've been looking into recording footage from my xbox 360 to my pc for editing purposes for some time. I've found that there are several ways to go about doing it, but for a low-budget kind of person like myself, I've found that using a video capture device of some sort would probably be best.

My question is not entirely how I can go about recording this footage to my pc, but rather how I can go about recording it to my pc if I play my xbox 360 on a computer monitor. In all of the examples I've found out there, people use video capture devices and the like to record from their HDTVs to their computers. My setup is such that I don't even play off of a SDTV, let alone and HD. I'm interested in how I can record from my CRT Monitor to my computer. I play using Microsoft's Xbox 360 VGA Cables, seen below.

Xbox 360 VGA Cable

I'm not even sure if my setup makes it possible for me to do some recording, but if any of you out there have a clue as to how I might go about recording some footage to share with the gaming populous given my conditions, please let me know.

Thanks a lot,

I have a question concerning the title of this topic. That is, if a mac... say a macbook pro, has vmware software on it that lets you install windows onto part of its hard drive, if you install vista on half of the drive, can you run vista games on it?

A lot of games work great with Vista. The only real thing you need to worry about are your laptop's specs.GreaterthanG0d

Well, the system I'm looking at is a Dell XPS with the following specs:

Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo T7250 (2MB cache/2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB)

4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)

320GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive

256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT

I'm pretty sure I'd be running Vista Home Premium Edition SP1.

This is a 32-bit system right? I mean these specs can't nearly topple something 64-bit can they?

Also, do you guys know if KOTOR and KOTOR 2 work on Vista?

Thanks so much for all of your input, it's really helping me to make an informed decision. I appreciate it a lot.

I'm looking into buying a laptop soon and want to be able to play the games that I've had for my XP Pro desktop. I've heard that Microsoft is not going to be supporting XP in the future so I've decided that Vista may be the best way to go. But reading into Vista, it sounds as though not all games are compatible with it. My question is, does it matter what version of Vista you have in order to play games, or is any version good enough. Obviously Vista Ultimate should be able to run games, but do any of the other versions come with that capability or the feature of DX10?

Specifically, if you will, I like playing Counter-Strike: Source, the half-life series, SW: Empire at War, and Warcraft 3 & the Frozen Throne. After answering my question above, it would help me out greatly if one of you could point me in the direction of a list of reliable, compatible games with Vista so that I could compare what I have with what works. Also, does anyone know if Steam works well on Vista?

Personally, I'd rather stick with XP Pro, since I know the OS so much better, but supposedly Microsoft isn't going to be supporting XP much longer; Vista is taking over. So, I'll gladly accept any input as to what you guys think I should get.

Thanks.

i think pre praid cost a little more because of taxes. but i would go with pre paid just because some how if u got hacked or something the person can buy things iwth ur credit card (arcade themes) iam2green

Yeah, I figured it would cost a little more due to sales taxes, I was just wondering if there was a big difference.

Gamespotters,

Does it cost more or the same amount of money to pay for xbox live using pre-paid cards versus credit cards.

I've never used live before so I don't know.

Thanks.

Could you be any more specific? Do you have a pic? A slender little silver thing doesn't really make much sense to me.

There haven't been too many glitches in Mass Effect. It runs pretty stable.

If you're looking for online co-op play, then unfortunately I must let you know that ME is a single player rpg with little online content ... yet.

But if you're looking forward to the greatest graphics and story you've ever experienced, ME should top your charts.
