My Xbox 360 doesn't have a signal to my TV. I turn on the Xbox and then...nothing on the TV. I can hear the sound since I have my sound set up in a receiver but I see absolutely nothing on the TV. I got a new cable and this still persists. The lights come on fine, there's no red lights anywhere. Anyone got this problem before?G4mbl3

Same problem here. I guess will will have to deal with this until they finally decide that this problem will also be covered under the 3 year warranty. We will probably hear alot of "these are isolated incidents" before that happens though.

My system RRoD'd on me after I had my system for a little over a year. It's like someone pushes a button to break it after the years warranty is up. Anyhow, I never took into account about keeping it well ventilated. I had it on it's belly on a glass shelf and the power supply behind my TV.Funny how I got a full year out if it tho. Received my replacement and ony got a month out of it. Might of had something to do with the fact that i didn't play it a whole lot till Mass Effect hit stores. This timeI will set my360 upin the fridge...

Thanks for all the tips for trying to avoid system overheating.I will definetly take it all into account this time around. Great Board btw. I check it everyday.

I know what you are saying. Microsoft must not be rich enough yet. 4 days after my warranty was up I got the Sound but no AV picture after a game I was playing seemed to downgrade to 8 bit graphics right before my eyes. Then came purple patches on the screen. So I shut the system down and booted it back up. Then I had nothing on the screen. My live membership just expired and I was just about to go out an buy a year of live for $50. Little did I know my system would take a crap and now I need that money to help with repairs.

I've had my 360 for just under 2 years and its been great, had no problems until recently - was playing halo 3 and all of a sudden the graphics went all blue and green. even the dashboard, menu's, etc had the same colour defect. So i turned off the 360 and when i switched it back on, all i got was a blank AV screen. The boot up sound still plays, so the console must still be running ok, but the picture isn't getting through at all. I took the AV lead back to the shop to have it tested and it worked fine, so it must be something wrong with the hardware. Got no RROD or anything - i wish that was the case because then i could send it to be fixed for free, whereas MS are going to charge nearly £80 to fix it the way it is now.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of fault?

If so what did you do about it?

Nap I just had the same exact problem happen to mine that you described. I know its not the AV port on my TV because I tried another port and I have the same issue. I get sound but have no picture it is either purple or black with jagged lines that flow on the screen. Ive got no error codes and the unit operates as normal without the picture. I have yet to try another AV cable but from what I have read I doubt that is the problem. Others are having the same problem as us so we are not alone. I am contacting Microsoft tomorrow. I will let you know what happens tomorrow

I've been experiencing a really odd glitch with my 360 lately. Whenever it's on for more than about 10 minutes, the screen reverts to an almost 256-color-like palette with many awkward blues thrown in. Has this happened to any of you guys? Or better yet, does anyone know of a way to fix it?

The next thing you will experience is a purple screen. You will still be able to hear the game. I will be contacting them tomorrow and will most likely speak with someone that wont have an answer to my problem and barely speak english. Then I will be told to send it in. I dont have high praise for microsoft after hearing what a nightmare their customer service is as well as the 360 unit itself

By the way, I've tried all of the normal procedures, such as unplugging everything and plugging it back in, taking the hard-drive out, etc.

I had the same things happen the other day. I wonder if Microsoft broke my system with some type of download or something. I would like some answers on this too since since I have no error code showing and there are no rings of death

Ive got this same problem right now as you. I have been told that it this means the red rings are coming. But then some guys have said this problem is not totally related. Either way we have a broke xbox and depending on the problem we will be spending a little or alot of money. Thanks XBOX. My PS2 was 6 years old and other than some disc read errors I had no problems with it before I sold it. They need to own up to a 3 year warranty on this machine on everything. You should at least get the peace of mind of having a 3 year warranty when you spend this much money especially if you play xbox live

I have read some posts that indicated that this was happening to some players before the RROD

I hope to be as lucky as you were. I purchased my 360 on March 9, 2007. Console took a crap on me on the 14th. I smell conspiracy. Any chance they will offer a grace period of 5 days since this is my first repair I will be sending in or do I have a better chance at bagging Eva Mendez.

Is there a forum on here that discusses broken 360's that are not related to the Red Rings of Death. My 360 has no picture but does have sound. Someone on another site referred to it as "watermarking". Basically I have a purple screen with horizontal lines running right to left. I dont have any error codes or red rings. If someone can direct me to some help on this board I would greatly appreciate it.

After about a week you will just get used to it and wont even be noticeable. If it is that much of an issue hook up a 5.1 surround sound system to your 360 like me and you will forget that the 360 was ever loud
